We need to see the details...this could be as broad as it sounds or it could be like the bans on parts of Europe or China where there are considerable exceptions.

 

By "immigration", that technically covers all IVs and NIVs (and possibly COS/EOS/AOS). Possibly LPRs as well (like v1 of the travel ban), although I do not think he could even actually do so.

 

Although, inviting the "need to protect jobs" part blurs the purpose from safety to other reasons, of which his authority is much more limited.

I’m so freaked out. I literally just got my NOA-1 about my adjustment today and I was delighted to have it 😔 I also really hate the thoughts of doing any international travel right now for obvious reasons.

One thing to keep in mind-Trump often makes grand statements which he later clarifies and limits. This may affect only new work visas etc. It will almost certainly not be the complete ban it sounds like now.
