Our Story

  1. So it seems I made a big blunder sending a lot of original documents to my fiance in Manila via USPS as they hand them off to Philpost which is notoriously unreliable. If she doesn't get that package in time (or at all), it seems she can only present photocopies of things like my paystubs, tax transcripts, W2s, etc. which fortunately I backed up. The only original documents I am providing her in my next package (sent DHL) are 1 paystub, I-134, signed letter from employer, Letter of intent to marry, divorce certificate (1 page - ordered recently w. official state seal). The rest will be photocopies. Anyone have any insight into whether or not this will be acceptable? Btw has anyone had any success sending via USPS priority mail (6-10 days w. tracking #) to Metro Manila in less than 1 month? I am still hoping she can get my original package of documents before her interview.
  2. We received our NOA 2 (K-1 Visa, Philippines) about 3 weeks ago and our wondering if and when we will receive a welcome letter from the NVC. Can anyone share their recent experience of how and when the NVC will notify us and give us a case number? Will we receive an email, letter, or both? Should we be notified when the NVC first receives our case or once it has been sent to the embassy?
  3. Is there anyone had success story applying Saudi Evisa and enter Saudi with extension letter ? I saw on the website US GC Holder are Eligible for evisa but not sure about extension letter.
  4. Hi all, My husband and I we really need some help on how to proceed on my immigration papers. I entered the US on ESTA back in March (I'm an Italian citizen) my husband (US citizen) and I we got married in April in the US I was supposed to leave the US but at the end we decided to do adjustment of status. But at the end of August my mom got sick and I needed to go back to Italy before I got the travel document. We still have the I-130 form pending we sent them a letter explaining the situation and that we wanted to proceed with consular processing we really hope that they would take it into consideration. Since we have been apart for a long time and even just visit him it would help our marriage. Is it worth trying to get inside the US? Would they deny me entry for sure? Is there a small chance of them letting me in? Technically I never overstayed my ESTA if we take into consideration the time that I was in the process because once we submitted the papers my status is changed right? If not I never overstayed more than 180 days so I'm also not banned "technically" Is it worth trying? Is it better not to? Is there something that I could tell them? Is there an airport that's easier? Thank you all for answering
  5. ... From the day you got approved. I'm IR2 and I have an interview set before August ends. US website says visas remain valid for 6 months. 1. Does this 6 month-validity apply to all visa categories? 2. How long was yours valid for? And, what was your category? Thanks.
  6. My wife and I are taking a (VERY) log overdue honeymoon starting 10/31. Our plans were to go to Thailand and then spend three days in South Korea on the way home. I have a USA passport and my wife has a Philippine passport and USA green card. Unfortunately for me, my wife told me that she didn't need a Visa to Korea. (She claims she did, but whatever). So I decided to check and yes, she does. Here is the issue: The Korean embassy is in Atlanta. Assuming I mail all the documents to them, it takes 14 days to process and then they mail back. (USPS mail). I asked them if I fly to Atlanta does it help? They said they still need 14 days and will mail it back. I'm not even sure I'd have her passport back by the time we leave, and if not, the whole trip is dead. I emailed the Korean embassy in Bangkok, but they told me that I would have to live in Thailand for 2 years before they could help us. Would you all take the chance? If I don't get the Korean embassy, we have an issue coming home. BUT: we at least get the Thailand portion of the trip. If I mail it, I *might* get it back on time? (It's already the 11th!) Wife REALLY wants to go and she's accusing me of sabotaging the Korean portion of the trip. Am I overthinking this? I tend not to trust the USPS or government agencies in general with time-sensitive items. (We only booked this trip two weeks ago ...) Thanks in advance.
  7. Hey everyone, I have a quick question. My Visa got approved and will be returned to me via courier (UPS) within the next 7-10 business days and I was wondering if you get like an email on when they will deliver it or if they just gonna show up at your door? With now just 2 weeks away from Christmas and 3 weeks away from moving I'm more out than I'm at home, trying to get everything done.
  8. hey everyone, I have my visa appoitment in about 2 weeks here in Germany, I was wondering if they will let you know right after the appoitment if you get approved or denied or if they let you wait till you get your papers back?
  9. I have my medical exam coming up at the end of the month, with my Visa interview coming up about 10 days after and the closer I get the more questions I have, which I think is normal But I'm pregnant and due to the pregnancy I couldn't get some vaccines done on time, could that be a problem? I read that they are recommended but not required am I right? By any chance somebody has expirence going through the whole process pregnant or with a pregnant partner? What things should I defiently remember when comes to both the medical exam and visa interview ? Appriciate any answer
  10. Received my visa recently. Did not contain a yellow packet and only had my passport. Visa says: Annotation: 212 (g) (2) (B) PL 107-208. Child Status Protection Act. IV DOCS IN CCD. ---- Questions: 1. Where's the packet? 2. Where can I find my A-Number?
  11. Hey all. Our visa’s status changed to issued finally, but we haven’t gotten any further info/email/texts about where to go and how to fetch it. I know we designated that we’d pick it up in Delhi, and the appointment papers indicate it’s near Shivaji stadium on the metro line—but we aren’t sure if we need an appointment, or exactly where to go. Rather than just go wandering around, I decided to see if you lovely folks have some experience with it! Thanks immensely!
  12. Hello, I am a US Citizen. I was born in India and became a naturalized US citizen in 2017. I have been traveling to India almost every year on Indian Visa. I got my Indian Visa renewed for 10 years in 2018 which is valid till 2028. I used to travel to India every year until Pandemic since Indian government invalidated the regular visas. However, due to the pandemic my standard regular Indian Visa was invalid, I ended up applying for my OCI card which I got it approved in May 2022. I used that to travel to India in Aug 2022. Recently we moved to a different town and due to that moving process some of my documents are misplaced. One of them was my OCI Card, however, I do have my US Passport and in it my Indian Visa attached. According to my Indian Visa, it is still valid till 2028. So unlike the Passport renunciation process, my Indian Visa was not canceled or scratched out. So, the question is - can I travel to India on this Indian Visa that is attached to my US Passport, even though I was approved my OCI Card? OR will I have to get my OCI card anyway before my India trip. was thinking about requesting my new OCI card after I come back from India. Any advice? Thank you! Regards, Vedic
  13. So I would like to know how I can tell which processing center the case went to . I found online that the three letters before your receipt number usually indicate the office or service center where your case is being processed. I got IOE which stands for USCIS Electronic Immigration System (ELIS) . How can I check their processing time since I couldn't find it online ? I found 5 different processing centers but none of them mentions the one I got . I would really appreciate your help with this .
  14. I am trying to help my mother in law renew her B2 and not sure what the best way to do that is currently. She is living in Moscow but can go to wherever to renew it. Anyone know the best way to do this currently? She travels to Italy frequently and Ive also heard Khazakastan is a good option to renew it. Any advise would be helpful!
  15. Hey everyone hope all is well and sorry for my English. So you guys are helping me with another issue for my green card and I told my mom about it she is very grateful for the help and want to you if you guys have any speculation why she was denied her tourist visa twice. So for some back ground info my dad's mom filed for him me and my little sister not sure if that why her tourist visa was denied ? That's what I think anyways. She first went for it back in 2019 and it was denied, they didn't give a reason and she didn't ask, we got our approval letter for the greencard in may 2020 and she went back again for her tourist visa earlier this year around January/ February and was denied again they didn't say why and she didn't ask. I also have a older sister who went for a tourist visa earlier this year too but she got her approved. So my mom was just confused as to why she keeps being denied, I told her when it comes to this stuff you guys are pretty knowledgeable and she wanted me to ask. Sorry about how long this was and thank you!
  16. My wife and child are Dutch citizens. I am a US citizen. our child was recently born in the Netherlands and we just received an appointment date for CRBA 3 months from now my EU 90 day visa is about to expire so I have to head back to the US. my question is can my wife and child come visit me for 2 months with their Dutch passport after which all 3 of us can head back?
  17. Hi, My husband is still in Afghanistan and we keep trying to get a visa for him to go to Doha so he can do his interview but we have no luck with how to get one. I tried online but too many options so I’m not sure which one is legitimate and when he goes to a visa place in Kabul they just show for Islamabad or Brazil. I know on deptartment of state site it says they may provide departure assistance for family reunification for US citizen family members (parents, spouse). I guess my questions are: 1. has anyone received departure assistance to a third country due to the embassy in their country being closed? 2. What does that departure assistance include? visa to third country? Flight to a third country? 3. If they do provide assistance can you choose what third country it is or do they choose for you? any insight would be much appreciated and apologies in advance as I was unsure what to list the topic under.
  18. Hello, I am a u.s citizen and so is our child he has his report birth abroad and u.s passport my wife is Icelandic. we are filing a I-864 and we are using a joint sponsor to support us on a separate I-864 QUESTIONS 1.As the primary sponsor to my wife since my child is a u.s citizen do I still need to add his info under Part 3 family member 1. 2. On my joint sponsors i-864 do I have to list myself and my child under part 3 as derivatives to my wife? I wouldn't imagine i need to since me and my son are both u.s citizens and not aliens. 3. Do i still need to fill out an I-864W for my son even if hes a u.s citizen no SSN yet but has u.s passport and report birth abroad. We are filing at our local embassy. 19. Hi All, Good Day! I just want to ask if anyone experience the same thing I did about the Online application of DS-260. In the "Present and Previous Address Information" where you got to mention in chronological order the places or addresses you've been from the day you turned 16 up to present. I wonder why, I always got Application Error every time I press save or press Next. Please advise. Thanks in advance
  20. We were approved for a K1 fiancé visa to the US coming from Egypt. My fiancé got the dreaded SSSS on her boarding pass after checking in. Is this normal for people traveling to get married?
  21. My Russian wife (IR1) and daughter (IR2) got an interview scheduled in Poland in mid April. We are trying to preparing the interview. One of the things to do is to register their visa delivery address. Since the interview is held in Poland, I need to register at https://cgifederal.secure.force.com/?language=English&country=Poland but it keeps taking me into Russian site indicating "Apply US Visa in Russia" instead of "Apply US Visa in Poland" at the top. I do not know if it is because my wife made a profile to apply US tourist visa in Russia before or simply her nationality is Russia and take her to Russian site as default. When I try to choose the delivery address at "New Application / Schedule Appointment" --> "Visa Type" (Immigrant Visa) --> it only has a choice of Moscow at "Post" instead of Warsaw. If I keep going to "Personal Data" to enter delivery address, it says enter Russian address only. What did anyone who is Russian who already had an account in https://cgifederal.secure.force.com but whose case was transferred to Poland, do to register delivery address in Poland? Also, is MBE pick up address in Warsaw the following?: Mail Boxes Etc. Warsaw ul. Wiertnicza 115, Warszawa, Poland 02-952
  22. Hi everyone! My partner and I got engaged last weekend. We live in New York City, I am a US citizen and he is a Canadian citizen who's been living in the US for several years on a TN work visa, which is currently in the process of being renewed so he can stay in the country for the next three years. He is interested in exploring other options for work, though, and on his TN visa, he's tied to his current employer. For that reason, we're thinking it may be best to get started on the green card process ASAP. We are planning to get married at the courthouse in June and then plan the actual wedding. Our concern is that we were really hoping to plan our wedding in Canada for the summer of 2024, and we're worried that if/when we start the green card process, he won't be allowed to leave the country until he's approved. This would obviously make it impossible to plan a wedding in Canada given that we won't know when exactly that will happen. That said, since he will still be on the active TN visa while his green card processes, I'm not sure if the 'no leaving the country' rule would apply to him. Does anyone have any info on this? I'm also curious what the green card timeline for Canadian citizens looks like... is it typically faster than it is for citizens of other countries? Thanks in advance for any/all advice!
  23. My wife and I are currently waiting for an I-130 application to be approved. I am a US citizen and she currently resides in the Philippines. She is contemplating applying for a workers visa in the Philippines as she has worked there in the past. Will applying for another workers visa and working in another country have any negative impact on our current application with USCIS? What challenges will we encounter if/when it is approved and she is currently in Japan?
  24. Hi, Does anyone know how long it takes after an approval for the visa/ passport to be back to the applicant? Just out of curiosity. Thanks!
  25. Hi! I was trying to book an appointment for my medical and the medical physician says that they'll send it directly to the Montreal Consulate. The packet 3 and 4 confirmations state that I need to bring the sealed medical report to the Consulate. Which is it? Does the doctor send it to the Consulate directly and I take nothing? Or Do I pickup the results myself and take the envelope to the interview? Any help is appreciated!
