Our Story

  1. Montreal embassy EB-2 interview wait time-Part 2 Continuation of this thread:
  2. I made a group for those who are pending interview in Montreal Consulate for F2A visa category. My case has been Documentarily qualified/case completed April 4th, 2019.
  3. I was a regular reader of the last London thread to keep myself updated with current timelines etc before it went to 70+ pages and way off topic. I thought it was such a useful resource so I’ve decided to start the ball rolling again so we can keep each other updated on news as it comes in. To kick us off, me and my wife were DQ 10th July so we’re hoping to get our interview appointment email early November. It appears June DQ dates have been scheduled so hoping this is our time after literally years of waiting. Fingers crossed for no Tier 3 lockdown in London!
  4. Hello everyone, I am wondering if anyone has received an interview appointment at the Abu Dhabi Embassy after recently getting their DQ. it would be great if someone would share their experience.
  5. Hi, I know there was someone asking the same question recently but just curious if there are any more recent cases given that the Paris Embassy has been posting reduced wait times. Anyone working / applying through the US Embassy in Paris, how long after being DQ'd by NVC did you receive your letter with interview date? Also how long after was your interview scheduled at? This is for IR-1 Spousal Visa - Consular Processing. Thanks in advance!
  6. I had my interview less than 2weeks ago. On the day of the interview I had 3 status update. I don't understand what it means. I was told I will get my letter within 10 to 15 days. Please, anyone have similar status. See below: Case Was Submitted For Quality Review Based On An Approval Recommendation Your Form N-400, Application for Naturalization, was placed in line for oath ceremony scheduling. We recommended that your Form N-400, Application for Naturalization, be approved. Your case was submitted for quality review.
  7. Anyone know when June 1st will be available? Everything after 5/28 is greyed out currently. It seems to be about a month out they will let you schedule but if I knew the specific time frame then I could be on top of it when my goal of 6/1 becomes available. We have already scheduled our Medical and I do not want to keep my fiancée in Manila for longer than necessary. Thank you in advance! This forum has been life changing for me going through this process and I am so grateful for all of you.
  8. The NVC finally gave my Colombian wife a date for her visa interview, and we are looking at the pre-interview checklist. It says the following: The appropriate Form I-864 Affidavit of Support for each financial sponsor along with a photocopy of the sponsor’s IRS transcript or most recent U.S. federal income tax return, and any relevant W-2s. Do I have to send her the original of the I-864? I ask because Colombia doesn't have a reliable postal system anymore, so it costs over $100 USD to send documents by international courier, such as FedEx (and that's with a membership) or DHL. Thanks in advance!
  9. hi everyone, after receiving the pkt 3 from the embassy, I've been trying to schedule an interview and pay the fees. The website always shows "no appointments available" and advises to come back at a later date. For those of you who have already scheduled an interview in Naples: do you have any tips? thank you! chiara
  10. Hi all, Had my FB4 immigrant visa interview at montreal on Jan 10, 2023. I was approved on the spot in 2 minutes and was told that my passport should return in 2 weeks. On CEAC it shows "refused" the day of the interview.. I understand that it's probably administrative processing. I was never given a 221g or a refusal only a "I intend to approve". Our passports are still at the consulate. Is anyone in a familiar situation?
  11. Hello, I am new to this forum and I have a few questions: - I am in the US and I became a citizen a few months ago, My mom in Beirut and her NVC case is DQ as of March 8th 2024. from what I read here it seems like it might take 6 months for her to get her interview at the consulate in Beirut. My question is can she do the interview in Arabic? she does not speak english, will the embassy provides translators if needed? thanks
  12. Does anybody have any idea how much time does it take to receive an IR-1 interview letter from the embassy in Tbilisi, Georgia? Can't find any information anywhere. It's been a little more than 8 months since we got the approval letter from NVC (July 12, 2023).
  13. My mother-in-laws paperwork was documentarily qualified for an interview on December 15, 2022. We have been waiting for the embassy to schedule the interview. Has anyone had an interview or could anyone give me a time frame of how long theirs took?
  14. Hello VJ community My wife had her interview today at USCIS and passed all the requirements. However she was not recommended for approval and he application was marked as: A decision cannot be made yet about your application on Form N-652. The immigration officer explained that her I-751 is still pending hence why they cannot recommend her for approval. She did her biometrics over a year ago and the I-751 processing time has been extended since there is a backlog of cases. Has this happened to anyone else? It seems a bit odd that they determine you are eligible to become a citizen but still want to go through the permanent resident process. Any information would be helpful. Thank you
  15. I am convinced that these forms are made confusing on purpose! Here are the spots that were confusing and/or I got conflicting information about how to fill them out in the I 134 form (I am a U.S. citizen filling out this form for my fiancée K1 beneficiary living in the Philippines). If anyone has had success filling out and submitting this form yourself, please share! Under the sponsor's financial information in part 3, do I list myself as a dependent or not? (I have seen both 1 and 0 listed for people who have no dependents besides themselves -- which is correct?!) Under my fiancée's (the beneficiary) income in part 2, under "relationship to the beneficiary", should I put "beneficiary" for my fiancée? (who I am agreeing to support). This part really makes no sense. It seems I am supposed to list my fiancée as the "beneficiary" of the beneficiary and not "self". The way I understand it is, it should only be "self" if no one else is supporting her... right? Under "anticipated length of stay": I am leaning toward estimating an arrival date and with "no end date" selected. Part 4: I am feeling 90% sure this is all N/A if the sponsor (myself) filled out and signed the I 134 for the Beneficiary to bring to the K1 interview Under "intent to provide specific contributions to the beneficiary" I am marking that "I intend" and then saying that I intend to provide full financial support with no end date -- with specific contributions in part 8, room and board, food, medical etc. Anyone do anything different? I putting N/A in pretty much every single spot that I have no information to fill in -- seems safer than leaving something blank even if its acceptable in some places.
  16. Hey, planning on booking my interview for just after the expired date on the i-797. Has anyone had experience with this for the k1 interview in London? On the London embassy website it says if I schedule my interview after the expired date (after the 4 months) all I need to do is a newly signed letter of intent with me to the interview? Any advice or experience with this would be appreciated, I read London embassy automatically renews the visas and are pretty relaxed about it all, but it still makes me feel uneasy booking the interview after that expired date.
  17. So it seems I made a big blunder sending a lot of original documents to my fiance in Manila via USPS as they hand them off to Philpost which is notoriously unreliable. If she doesn't get that package in time (or at all), it seems she can only present photocopies of things like my paystubs, tax transcripts, W2s, etc. which fortunately I backed up. The only original documents I am providing her in my next package (sent DHL) are 1 paystub, I-134, signed letter from employer, Letter of intent to marry, divorce certificate (1 page - ordered recently w. official state seal). The rest will be photocopies. Anyone have any insight into whether or not this will be acceptable? Btw has anyone had any success sending via USPS priority mail (6-10 days w. tracking #) to Metro Manila in less than 1 month? I am still hoping she can get my original package of documents before her interview.
  18. Hey, as the title says. I have a flight booked to visit my partner for April as it is her 30th birthday and I want to be there for it. However we are in the NVC stage and when I visit my interview will probably be booked already, planning to hopefully have it done end of May or June. Any advice would be appreciated, is it ok to still visit at this stage?
  19. Hello, Filipino beneficiary here speaking. We just received the NOA2 and will prepare documents soon. Im wondering how to sign my reaffirmed intent to marry letter. We will have our interview later down the line. My first intent to marry letter was submitted along with the petition about a year ago. It contained my new signature, but the problem is my current IDs (government issued like TIN, PhilHealth) contain my old signature. I will make my second, reaffirmed intent to marry letter soon and am wondering whether I should go back to using my old signature, but then it would not match with the signature on my first letter of intent to marry. Im not aware which the embassy will look more on, having the letter’s signature match across my IDs or having the letter’s signature match on the older letter. Am I better off using my old or new signature here?
  20. I haven't seen my fiancé in person in over 6 months due to circumstances with work/PTO, among other things. I won't be seeing my fiancé before the interview either, as it's quite soon already. We've been together quite often in the past 2 years (6 visits). Would it be a red flag that we haven't seen each other for so long?
  21. Hey all, I've got my embassy interview next week and I understand that if things go well (fingers crossed) the embassy will keep my passport and send it later via courier (something I have already registered for). My question is this: Will the the embassy issue a receipt that they kept my passport? I ask because I live in a country where having my passport on me is important for ID purposes. Any answers would be appreciated. Thanks
  22. ... From the day you got approved. I'm IR2 and I have an interview set before August ends. US website says visas remain valid for 6 months. 1. Does this 6 month-validity apply to all visa categories? 2. How long was yours valid for? And, what was your category? Thanks.
  23. Hi All, I just want to make sure our appointment date is not a system glitch. K1 Visa appointments at Manila Embassy aren't just only available on Tuesdays right? I found one on Friday, which seemed odd....but I noticed there were other days available like Monday and another Friday appointment on January as well. Her embassy confirmation page clearly says K1 Visa for this date on Friday. I just want to make sure my fiancé wont get turned away at the embassy that day.
  24. Need Advise on Ceac status. My spouse had her interview last week on Tuesday. interview was ok , but the CO didnt find a lot of the documents that were uploaded at NVC stage. at the end wife was given a 221(g) which instructed to upload irrelevant documents like CV, etc all documents were uploaded with in an hour of the interview, later in the day london embassay emailed asking for the documents which were also then sent via email. then on Friday the CEAC status changed to "Refused" , I was under the impression that it will change to Admin Processing? what does refused mean? I saw a similar review for london embassy :https://www.visajourney.com/reviews/view-dos-cis-reviews.php?entry=31055 that person also indicated that CEAC status change to refused and then Admin processing ...... any insight on this would be welcome.
  25. I think I have a pretty good handle on what we need to do after we get our NOA 2 approval for our K1 visa (Philippines), but I am wondering if someone who has been through the process recently could put these items in exact chronological order, (and let me know if I am missing anything): Receive NVC welcome letter Submit DS 160 Pay MRV fee Schedule Interview (it seems my Fiancé must do this online and is not automatically assigned a date) Schedule Medical exam Attend Interview Schedule CFO Course after visa is in hand (AOSG is not required to leave the country for K1 visa as far as I can tell)
