  1. Hello helpful community! I'm about half-way through the CR1 visa application process at the US Embassy in Paris for my husband, who is French (I'm a US citizen). Everything was pretty clear and going smoothly until now, we're completely lost as to what the next step is. Did anyone file recently at this consulate, and if so, when/where/how did you submit your I-184, financial and civil docs after submitting the DS-260?? To recap our situation: Oct 17: We submitted our I-130 petition in person at the US Embassy (we had previously gotten approved for filing directly due to exceptional circumstance) Oct 31: We received an email from the embassy saying the petition had been approved and instructing us to: ""Complete you DS-260, gather the full documentation, and register your appointment." Nov 25: We submitted the DS-260 online via the CEAC portal. Unless we missed something major, there was NOT a tab for uploading the I-184, financial documents, nor civil documents. We received the Confirmation email that the DS-260 had been submitted. This email said we had to submit the financial and civil documents for the NVC to review and directed us to this website. Option one (CEAC) doesn't seem possible, do we EMAIL or MAIL the documents in to the NVC? Our case number does not begin with the letters they put as the ones that should be emailed in. Here's a bit of the letter: On the CEAC tracker, though, our status is marked as "Ready" and says to wait for appointment notification: So, are we supposed to: A) Do nothing just wait? B) Email documents to NVCelectronic@state.gov C) Mail them to National Visa Center Attn: DR31 Rochester Ave. Suite 100 Portsmouth, NH 03801-2914 D) Something else???? Anyone who has been through this process recently and can tell us what steps they had to take would be most appreciated! Thank you!!!
  2. Hi, We are more than a little confused about some items for my husband's upcoming Medial Exam and Visa Interview in Paris, France. I am a US citizen, and the petitioner, and we have done everything ourselves up to this point. Can anyone definitively assist us in determining the following: 1) Which vaccines are absolutely required to be current (within the last 10 years) at the time of the Medical Exam for an applicant that is in their 50's? 1A) My husband has lost his MMR and other vaccination records, will a report of blood tests for specific vaccines be enough for the Exam? 2) Does an applicant need to disclose their HIV status to the civil surgeon at the medical exam? It says in the instructions to be prepared to discuss current medications and conditions the applicant has, but that HIV is not a disqualifying condition anymore, but we are more concerned for the sake of medical privacy to not provide unnecessary medical information if we don't need to. 3) Where is the Medical Questionnaire for the medical exam located? Or is it form I-693 that we just print and bring with us? 4) Any moral support or words of comfort to ease the nervousness of this pending ordeal would be greatly appreciated!
  3. Hi everyone! We are looking for information about the DCF at the french embassy. My wife is american and we live together in france since our wedding almost two years ago. She wants to go back to the states because she is needed in her family business. We read a lot of information, and just before sending the I-130 to the lockbox in chicago, we discovered there was a shorter way for the US citizen living abroad : the Direct Consular Filing. We saw some cases that took only few months to get their visa. So, we did what they did : sending an email explaining the situation to the embassy. But they responded saying they are not doing it anymore since 2011. here is their answer : Dear M. Minix, Effective August 15, 2011, all I-130 petitions for an immediate relative must be filed directly with the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) Chicago lockbox and the information you need most will be found at www.uscis.gov. Only once you have successfully filed your petition with USCIS and completed the necessary processing will your file be transferred to the National Visa Center (NVC). This procedure from USCIS to NVC to Paris will take few months. You may follow up your case on line via the following website https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/Dashboard.do by entering your case number provided by NVC. You can also find additional information on the process at www.travel.state.gov. Posts receive hardcopy files within three weeks prior the interview of eligibility scheduled by NVC. Educating yourself on the process by visiting the links above and preparing all the necessary information/documents is the best way to expedite the procedure. Thank you for your inquiry. Sincerely, Immigrant Visas Visa Unit U.S. Embassy, Paris France It's hard to find information about that. we found only few DCF made in france. That' why we add a new post here, specificaly for the french embassy. does anybody have information, or experience, with this DCF at the french embassy? Thanks a lot! Clément and kalah
  4. Hi I was wondering if anyone had experienced this. We’re 3months into the waiting period for the petition and now I’m trying to plan our summer on the little information we have so far. Portuguese visa applications are sent to Paris where you take a prepaid self addressed envelope to your interview. Can the address you put on that envelope be different tothe address you filed with? I want to visit family in the UK and was wondering if I can use my mother’s address while I wait for the passport to be sent. The other question is, can I book my medical appointments in advance even though I haven’t had the NVC referral yet? Thanks in advance.
  5. Hi everybody! My name is Jenni, I am French and I am in the process of a Fiancé visa K1, I have my interview at the US embassy of Paris in January. My fiancé, who is the American citizen, recently moved and he informed the USCIS about that, but I filled and submitted my DS-160 form before that with his old address. So his address and the place I will stay (which are the same one) are now incorrect on the form. I tried to call the embassy but I can't reach them. I would like to know if someone who is familiar with the situation could help me. Thank you !

    IMBRA pamphlet

Hi all, We're applying for a K-1 visa and our case is already at the embassy. On december 15th we received an e-mail from the US Embassy in Paris with instructions on how to schedule an interview. I’ve filled out the DS-160 form and I was about to sign and submit it when I saw the following checkbox: “I hereby certify that I have received a copy of the IMBRA Pamphlet as part of my application packet.” I haven’t received an application packet, therefore I can't sign it nor pay for the visa nor schedule an interview. We are extremely worried about this because we don't know whether or not our packet is ever going to arrive and meanwhile we're wasting our time. We called the embassy several times and they told us no one could answer our question by phone, only by e-mail. We have sent several e-mails with no answer so far. Does anyone know if and when we’ll receive a copy of the IMBRA Pamphlet in order to check the box and continue with the payment and following steps? Thank you very much!

    O-1 Visa Administrative Processing

Hi, I applied for an O-1 Visa and my petition was approved. I went to the US Paris embassy and eventually she said she wants to look into it more, my case is fairly unusual as I'm below the age of 18. She said it would take no longer than a week, she took my passport and I paid the payment to have it placed in when it is approved. Has anyone got experience with this? How long did it take? In a foreign country and want to get to work

  9. My fiancé's visa status on the CEAC website FINALLY changed to "Issued" on September 21 but he still hasn't received tracking information or any communication from the US Embassy in Paris or a courier service. Can anyone shed shed some light on their experience after their status changed to "Issued" (specific to the the same Embassy would be great)?
