Highmystic got a reaction from Mrs Thor in Philippine Consulate San Fransisco
Yes. we got one (1) notarized and made 4 copies. It was returned to us with a letter that all 5 must be motorized. We are in Arizona where things are not as insane as in Cal, so we took the ROM back to our bank, and the clerk notarized all 5 pieces, and entered them in the book while we waited. Total fee for notarizing: $0.00 If you have bank accounts, check the bank first. At most it could be like 5 to 7 bucks I would guess for you.

Highmystic reacted to Fe.Ta in AOS - 2016 Income Below Requirement - Input Needed
Right, that I know. I only went with them because at the time I hadn’t found VJ. So, it was my “safety net” besides following the instructions myself. I found VJ a year later, which has been a blessing anyways. The question on the post was more about the 2016 income difference and if it truly has that much weight on the decision or denial.

Just my opine, but the term "Rapid", IMO, is just a marketing tool, and no faster than doing it yourself, in most cases...

Highmystic got a reaction from Laststop in Once we get off the plane...
My wife entered in Las Vegas as POE, she and other K1's were rounded up in a special room, there carry-on's were inspected, and a short couple of standard questions, and reminded that they need to be married within 90 days or they have to depart. It did take a half hour or so before she came out.

Highmystic reacted to Russ&Caro in [HELP] Question about Sponsors
Study the guides on this site in detail. Marrying and filing for a CR1 might be a better option for both of you instead of the K1. She'll have time after filing to move to the US, establish domicile, get a job and build up proof of income. If she falls short, she can hopefully enlist a US friend or relative to co-sponsor. Good luck.

Highmystic reacted to Ontarkie in Moving belongings from Canada to USA - can they be shipped to USC
I don't know anything about the rest of the world but you cannot move your personal belongings to the US without an immigrant visa.
-
Highmystic reacted to Allaboutwaiting in Moving belongings from Canada to USA - can they be shipped to USC
You can have him send his belongings BEFORE he gets the immigrant visa, but that would mean you would act as an importer and would pay the respective duties for all the household goods.
That's why you should wait for the visa to be issued, so the whole cargo can be duty free.

Highmystic got a reaction from RCable in Moving belongings from Canada to USA - can they be shipped to USC
Boxes could go DHL, but for larger stuff (or the boxes) try a Freight Forwarder. You deliver to the FF and they export it out to be picked up on the other end. Check with Canada post as to size and weight limits. It crosses over and USPS delivers. I ship all the time Priority International, more costly than ocean, but cheaper that I don't have to mess with Ocean delays and Customs brokers.

Highmystic got a reaction from KartineeKartoons in Green card type?
When my wife got her 2 yr GC, she was told at the interview that if she wants, she can apply for citizenship 90 days before the 3 year anniversary of her GC approval. The IO specifically said "if you file even a day before the 90 days, they will just take your money and say thank you, but you will have to reapply tomorrow. LOL.. Seriously!
-
Highmystic reacted to Georgia16 in Green card type?
Married under 2 year when you get GC approved will give you a 2 year GC. Those who by mistake have gotten a 10 year GC have a responsibility to get it corrected themselves.
She can apply to be a USC after 3 year of marriage AND 3 years of Gc holder (residents since on the GC) minus the 90 days before. OR 5 years as a GC holder.
Yes, they also have a requirements for days in the US when applying for the USC.

Whatever we send our general interview strategy is bring a set of copies to the interview and carry a set of originals to match the copies.

Highmystic reacted to laylalex in Question about proof of Bona Fide marriage/relationship
Not that you're looking for relationship advice, but you're really, really young. More time together -- physically together -- can only help. I met my now ex-husband when I was 20, and I had very little experience of the world or romantic relationships in general. I was so swept away by how romantic it all was. We were lucky that we got to have a lot of face time together before we got married when I was 25, but even then I didn't get to know him as well as I should have. Now, that's just me, but you have just made the greatest commitment of your life by getting married. When your husband comes over, it's going to be a BIG shock for him to be in America. That's hard enough on its own, but then he also has to get used to being a husband in a strange new country. More time together makes it not only easier for USCIS to see you are a genuine couple, but it gives you both the chance to grow together as a couple, to deepen your love. I know it can be tough financially, but you owe it to yourselves to spend the money on time together. Best of luck to you both and congrats on your marriage!

YOU NEED PAY 1225
How to Write Your Check
Personal checks must be pre-printed with your name and your bank’s name. Your address and phone number must be pre-printed, typed, or written in ink.
Write the date you are completing the check. Use the U.S. style of month/day/year. (Example: Jan. 4, 2017, or 1/4/17, but not 4/1/17 or 4 JAN 2017.) On the “Pay to the Order of” line, write “U.S. Department of Homeland Security” (not “USDHS” or “DHS”). Use numerals to show the exact dollar amount of the fee for the service you are requesting. In the example, the amount is “$725.00.” Spell out the exact dollar amount of the fee and write the “cents” portion of the amount as a fraction over 100. In this example, the amount is “Seven hundred twenty-five and 00/100.” Write a brief description of the purpose of your payment. In this example, it is “N-400 application and biometric services fee.” Include the applicant’s name on the memo line if it is not on the check itself (for example, if you are paying the fee for your child). Sign the check in ink using your legal name. -
Highmystic reacted to little immigrant in Passport situation
You said you visited two years ago. You need to meet within the last two years so if the two years are already passed very soon you need to visit again or your K1 gets declined. Please be aware of that.

Highmystic reacted to geowrian in Change filing office
The location of biometrics is the ASC, which may or may not be the same as the field office. But the field office still follows the zipcode, even if the ASC is elsewhere.

Highmystic got a reaction from SalishSea in Has anyone gotten a Marijuana Medical Card?
I read about a Canadian Citizen, coming across the border in to the US. In Canada, it's legal, in Washington, it's legal, he was asked by the CBP agent if he ever used drugs or marijuana, and he said yes. Was denied entry.

Highmystic reacted to N-o-l-a in Has anyone gotten a Marijuana Medical Card?
Risking other people's lives with a DUI is different than smoking some MJ and not driving.

Highmystic reacted to Daphne . in How long we must wait to apply for K1 visa after the visit?
Just to add, also make sure that you get a good idea about the full scope of the K1 visa process (so after a K1 visa is issued).
After you get married, you will go through the adjustment of status process (and have to cough up the filing fee for that) and eventually the removal of conditions of your conditional green card after that.
The K1 visa itself is just the means to enter the US. Having a good idea about the next steps will help you to plan both financially and emotionally so you can avoid any surprises in the future.
Good luck on your immigration journey!

and we are supposed to feel bad why? His mother made a series of bad decisions, but with legal paperwork to show he was concurrently mexican and american born, yet it is ICE's fault? Please ... stupidity doesn't excuse this situation and shift blame to ICE

Highmystic reacted to JFH in Adjustment of Status
I’m female.
If a $1250 fee is burdensome to you, but you make “decent money” (decent to me is “more than you need to survive each month”) then something is not right.
Ultimately it’s your choice whether to keep your wife here at risk of deportation. Only you know where that fits in your priorities right now.
I get that a 10-month stay in a Manila hotel was expensive but that was your choice. You (as the USC) did not have to stay. You could have returned home and worked to save for this additional expense. You surely were aware that this fee was required at this stage when you started out on this journey? But that’s water under the bridge now and cannot be undone.
The current political climate here is not favorable to people who are out of status. But...your life, your choices.
