Has anyone gotten a Marijuana Medical Card?

And has it affected anything in regard to getting a citizenship or being left back into the country? Has anyone have any personal experience with this issue?

As a beneficiary I would avoid MMJ as it is still a federally scheduled narcotic.   

 

People working in the MMJ field as a Conditional Permanent resident have had issues getting a 10 year green card.

That link says about working in the weed business or involved in it. I can't find much online regarding medical cards. Would they  find out? Would a person be protected by HIPPA? Or is it just the act of admitting to using cannabis that could get that person in trouble?

Read it again.......and look at my edited link...."Drug USER or involved in the Cannabis Industry ....."  ..."or imbibed it" is key....

I understand what it says about a person being a drug user but how would they find out other than admitting it? If a person has a medical card are they protected by HIPPA? Is there a database immigration can check?

Personally, I would try a federally approved and prescribed alternative instead of MJ......just my opinion...😁.

I see nothing wrong with opiates if legally obtained and used per law.

Thanks for the link. It's an interesting subject. I don't have a medical card or intend to get one. I don't even partake in using it. It's just I'm in a state that has recently legalized weed for medical patients and I was wondering if it has affected anyone regarding their citizenship or returning back to the country.

 

Also I'm curious if there's a way that uscis/immigration can check to see if people have cards other than admitting to using weed?

 

I can't find hardly anything about it online. Lots of articles talking about working in dispensaries etc, but not much about medical patients.
