My fiance is also not born in the US. They migrated to US when he was a child. We also submitted his naturalization certificate along with the copy of his passport, although one of each is enough.

Thank you for your answering and congrats!!!!

That's good to know, thank you for the fast reply!!!

You are very welcome.  You would be surprised at how many of us were not born in the US, but was naturalized at some point.  We are all Americans, 😄.  Good luck.  My NOA1 is 8/2, so we are both getting close.  You, are even closer.

Now I'm frantic worried about that the reason we haven't been approved yet is because my fiance wasn't born in the US,

but he became the US citizen when he was 17, so we turned in his naturalization certificate.

You're well within normal processing times. That they're looking at non-expedited July cases at all already is very surprising given how processing times looked this summer. Don't worry.

By working through the system to attain naturalized is a very commendable on your part. Yes, you are an American and I see you are proud of it. I salute you!

As you have eluded to naturalization has nothing to do with the approval process for a visa. As long as you are eligible then you can complete the process.

About 25% of all VJ July apps have been approved so far. That number never gets to 100% though, it usually tops out at about 75%,  so that about 1/3 of all the apps what would ever be approved on VJ. It is respectable % and hopefully we will see it climb higher.

Do you guys think that could affect their decision of the approval?

We filed June 29th and JUST got approved this week.  It will happen for you 😊

Although this doesn’t help me stop checking the website multiple times each day, this is the information posted on the USCIS.gov website:

The case status information on this site is updated regularly throughout the business day. If any action is taken regarding your case, the change will be reflected on this site within a few minutes of the action-taking place.
