Consulate Review: Ukraine
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : March 18, 2019
Embassy Review : Our K1/K2 interview in Kiev was absolutely a breeze, probably due to my fiance being present. Scheduled for 8 AM, in at 7:45 and out at 9:15. Our petition was very heavily front-loaded with 4 visits over 16 months. We were called the second after a lady whose visa was approved. The CO was very friendly and asked just a few formal questions, obviously looking at how we responded and not in search of any new information. He started the interview in Russian and soon switched to English as we responded in English (we both are Russian speaking originally). He smiled and joked, obviously he was satisfied with the information he could gather from the original petition and seemed not to be interested in the evidence we collated for the interview. The interview was less of a questioning but more like a discussion, my fiance made supportive remarks and was also asked a few questions. The CO gave us an approval slip, congratulated us and wished us a good day. Indeed, the interview was the easiest and certainly most pleasant part of the journey.
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
