I don't know about benefits in NV, but you should apply to see if your Father is eligible for anything.

In Connecticut eldelry LPR can get SAGA Cash assistance even before five years as an LPR. There is also state home care program. You Father will not be eligible for SNAP (food stamps) until after he has been in US for five years. 

 

I am sorry you are going throught this. I wish people had more empathy. It is hard to care for elderly parent and I understand why you brought him here. Most likely because there was no one else who could care from him in his native Country.

It is not a lack of empathy, it is because of empathy for OP’s father who is now in the US, not being really financially supported. OP is struggling to take care of him and on top of that, he has no health insurance.. I understand that it is hard to care for an elderly parent, but seriously wonder if moving him to the US at his age was the only  available option.

Who is his health care provider? Check with them and see if they hava a PCA (Personal Care Assistant) Program. I do that for my 95 year old mother in law. She is a USC but never worked in the US and is on Medicade. I do get paid but not that much and seeing as Im retiered anyway it works. Check it out.

I'm sorry you and your Dad are in this position. It's a difficult one and sometimes there are no good choices. He may be eligible for health insurance through the ACA. I'm not sure, and I think your income may be considered in determining his eligibility but it's worth checking out. Other than charities, non-profits and churches, your best option would be to find a job that pays more so that you can hire someone to help take care of him while you are at work, or find a second job to pay for his care.  You also need to sign him up and pay for his health insurance, check out the ACA website.  You are putting yourself in a very precarious financial situation without health insurance.  One long hospital stay could bankrupt you.

Honestly depends the state  etc.

 

Honestly, ethically you should take care of all these things because you agreed to it. But I know tons of green card holders that are getting Medicaid, welfare, cash assistance  etc. Some elderly are getting home health aids through insurance.

 

Though I agree with everyone, you should handle this. However if you truly are in a tight spot, there may be some help, check your office of social services. Yea

SMH.  Sorry, but I think it is irresponsible and cruel to bring a very elderly person here and not provide him with basic health insurance.

You are no different than other caretaker of their parents. You are financially responsible for their care. Check with his medical insurance on possible home care benefits such as PT OT bath aide. They may qualify for short term.

OP advised he does not provide health insurance for his beneficiary.  SMH

Yes I read that after I offered my advise. I think he should see what the state offers. I know some undocumented that get it from the state. Should look into it. The price of those tickets back home  every year can fund some of those costs.

Very true but mostly on behalf of their US born children.

OP’s in a tough spot but what to advise?  The rules are clear and other than possible state programs or charities there isn’t much to suggest.  I know in Texas he’d be out of luck from a public benefits standpoint but there are a lot of charity organizations he could check with.  
We plan for this for years.  Decades.  Lifetime USC’s with access to benefits have trouble balancing these things.  To bring an elderly parent over without building any kind of safety net is irresponsible on so many levels.

this is the very reason(s) we did not apply for MIL 

medication costs

insurance

and daily living help 

all are very expensive in the US

TBH I think that USCIS should require that the petitioner of an elderly parent should have proof that they can and will provide health insurance for said parent/s before the visa is approved. Everyone who was born in the US or has lived here for any amount of time, knows for a fact how much healthcare is in this country. As much as I am empathetic towards your dad, it should not fall on the US taxpayers to provide free healthcare/assistance or any other type of benefit because your lack of thought and planning for his needs once he arrived. It is so unfair to him.
