The interview was so easy and even fun! First of all, we had to go through security, which was quick. We went to Window 1 where they stamped our interview letter, and then to another window, where we handed the stamped letter in. We waited for a short time in the waiting area. It was busy, but not very crowded. As different interviewers came out to call people in, we noticed that they all seemed very warm and welcoming. Our interviewer, Heather, called us right on time. She was friendly and engaging! Much of the time we spent with her was in friendly conversation about our marriage, how we met, and how we fell in love. She said that she loves our story! I had gathered and printed out everything the letter told us to bring, and she hardly wanted to see any of it. She asked Neil the compulsory questions about whether he is a terrorist or subversive, is he involved in espionage...etc. She asked to see some photos and other evidence of a legit marriage, and we gave her our pictures and copies of our insurance policy, joint account bank statement, and utility bill with both our names on them. We told her that early in our relationship we had written a poetry book together and she looked it up, with enthusiasm, saying she was gonna check it our further later. Then she told us that my husband is approved, as of that day! His green card should be here in about two weeks and we can breathe (and stop printing evidence) for two years! Whew!! She then told us when to file for ROC. We all said, "Merry Christmas" and were done!

Hi! This is Jodi, and I'm in West Belmar NJ. My fiance,Neil, is from Hervey Bay. Where are you?
Hi
I am in Canberra and my fiancee is in Kentucky.
Congratulations on the NOA2! I hope my fiancé and I get ours soon enough as well. 😳
Thank you!!! I'm sure you'll have yours soon!

Thank you, WaterLeaf! I will keep you updated as we go along with the AOS. At the moment, we are filling out the forms. We can't submit anything until we get the copy of our marriage certificate. Best of luck to you, too!

Sorry about the multiple postings! VJ kept telling me there was an error and I kept clicking "Post Comment".
Congrats on your EAD and AP approvals! ☺ï¸
Wooooohoooo congratulations you guys! What a great Christmas present for you both.
Thank you, Emily!!! It's a great Christmas present! We are sooo happy and relieved!
I wish you good luck on ROC and may it be a smooth ride. I just noticed my Hubby and I ended up filing ROC in 2022 instead of 2021 (you filed in 2021!)... whoops. Keep me updated!
Thank you so much and good luck to you!
Look at you! You're kicking it! I'd like to know about the Oath Ceremony. Is it inside or is it still like a drive by? My Husband wanted to use a Hummer Limo drive by style HAHA.
We're in New Jersey, so our experiences may be different. At the Mount Laurel field office, there is an official looking oath room, where everyone gathers. It didn't take long. They did a roll call, and explained a few things that are important for new citizens to do, like getting a passport, and registering to vote. There were quite a few people taking the oath, then it was done! I hope your day is as happy as ours was! I hope you go in a Hummer Limo, even if it's not a drive through!
Gotcha. I'll keep an eye out and plan for the other if it's not possible for a Hummer Limo drive thru! :) I'll post pics!
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
