I went to visit a friend I had known for 12 years and my fiancé came with him to the airport to receive me. Nothing sinister about that. Yes I would be willing to adopt an older child.

He invited me to Pakistan to get married and live there or if I prefetr Dubai or Qatar. He knows we may never get a visa to the USA but he still loves and wants me anyway.

Sorry,  he thinks u can afford Dubai or Qatar?

Those are 2 very expensive countries /  i have been to both -not cheap

good luck on SSA

I am out

I have been blessed to get my social security plus a former husband died so I get widows social security plus I have a pension. We won’t be rich there but with him working too we will get by.

sorry ,  u can't collect both/  u get the higher of yours or his

no wonder the CO was suspicious of your SS money

Can a wife collect her Social Security and her deceased husband's?

Social Security will not combine a late spouse's benefit and your own and pay you both. When you are eligible for two benefits, such as a survivor benefit and a retirement payment, Social Security doesn't add them together but rather pays you the higher of the two amounts.

I’m very  sorry to dispute what you are saying but you’re wrong. I’m not going to go into detail about my personal finances but I get 2checks mine and his plus pension. When I turn 65 I will get $500 more a month from his social security. My fiancé and I will be fine wherever we are.

The vast majority of Muslim men only have one wife. And by that, I mean less than 1%. My husband is from Jordan where it is far, far less than 1%. Marrying more than one woman just isn't a thing like people think. If a man marries one woman he must by law, provide every subsequent wife with equal everything, including buying her her own home. They can't afford it. Men who marry multiple woman do not cohabitate as one big family.  Perhaps for the ultra wealthy sheiks in KSA, but for everyone else, nope. And Sharia law marriages are absolutely registered, I was married in a Sharia court and my marriage was registered, it was and is the law.

Cathi is totally correct

on top of 1st wife has to agree to 2nd wife

and man has to prove he can afford this

it just isn't done by very many at all

its' for the rich

I’m not going to argue with you when I know my personal finances and nope I won’t lose a penny when he gets a job unless he makes over a certain amount.

You are an esteemed member here AZ. You know that we don't judge people. We merely ask questions from many angles...just as COs do.

I also believe in grilling applicants the way consular officers will so they can cover all the bases and not get caught. I just thought some of the questions a bit much particularly since OP is not a newbie, having gone through the immigration process for a previous spouse and well aware she has a very significant age gap with her husband, that's all. No biggie.

Just another random guy from the internet with an opinion, although usually backed by data!

Has this become a marriage inquisition/counseling forum or it remains an immigration forum? I fail to see the point of some of the personal intrusive questions being asked, but that is just me.

With that said, like everyone else I believe OP is in for a tough long-term slog to get her fiancée here.

Maybe the silver lining is that our questions can help OP/fiancé to strategize their next approach to the petition/interview.   As you know, MANY people go into it blissfully unaware of the glaring red flags in their cases, until it is pointed out to them.

Personally, I think being extra prepared and having a plan B is sensible.
