Always listen to those from your Embassy only, others are helpful, but each embassy has their own rules of practice.  You do not want to take the advise of others and they are wrong and you will be denied.

What they're avoiding is taking actual responsibility of adjudicating the applications in a timely matter, which you apparently advocate. Avoid arguments? People are more angry not knowing why for months and will argue more with USCIS. You have no empathy. Next time keep your garbage opinion about someones attitude to yourself. My attitude is justified as I have waited more than a year already pending security checks with no criminal history.

Op said they were having a wedding, not a party or celebration but a full wedding with vows, exchange of rings, and cultural clothing.
Now a party would be different.
Everyone does need to stop saying the CO will deny because the OP is considering this wedding after recieving the visa but before moving.  That means the CO is out of the picture.
However the CBP could find out and deny entry.  Also when applying for AOS it could also come to light that the OP is already married. If they file AOS based on the K1 it may be possible to be denied since they violated the terms of the K1.
I think at this point the OP can make a decision on risk vs reward.
Legally if they marry before entry to the USA on a K1 visa, they have violated the term of that visa and entered illegally and cannot adjust on that visa.  If thry have a party that is not a wedding so friends and family can wish them well, then they have not.  But I strongly suggest not exchanging vows, rings or wearing cultural wedding attire.

No one is giving legal advice.

But what people are saying is that it is risky and could lead to a denial.

The only thing one has to do is ask themselves if it is worth the risk?

Keep in mind that having a "wedding party" is different depending on country/culture so a "wedding party" for one and a "wedding party" for another are not necessarily one in the same.

    It's just risk assessment.

Hi all!  I had my AOS Interview at Tampa FL USCIS Office today.  Here is my review...

Met with a lovely immigration officer (Riki) who went through the I-485 and verified all the information that I had provided in the form.

Asked for my name and former names, my DOB, husbands name and his DOB, my parents names, current address, how long we have lived there for, date we were married and then we went through each of the immigration/criminal/terrorism questions which you have to answer verbally yes/no to. We were then invited to provide any supporting documentation to verify our relationship. We provided gym membership, health insurance, joint credit cards, car insurance, joint bank statements, birthday cards, 5 x photos from the wedding, copies of our wedding vows and facebook msgs and emails. She then invited us to tell her about us and our story which we didn't mind retelling as we love to tell our little 'fairytale'

She then informed us that she had everything she needed for her review and that once they did a 'refresh' on my background check, everything to her looked good to be approved. Told us they have 90 days to approve it but that she normally takes less than 30 days to go through her cases and issue decision. She then said that I will receive a letter advising us of their decision and then a week later will receive the card.

By the time we arrived home (approximately 2 hours after the appointment ended), I received a text notification that my case status had been updated for all three cases (AOS, EAD & AP). So I signed in to my USCIS account online and it advised 'New Card is Being Produced' for my AOS which means I have been APPROVED and it is on it's way! NOTE - Because my greencard was issued before my employment authorization/advance parole requests had been granted, they have now been cancelled by the immigration officer (she advised us that she would cancel them once she approved and issued my green card).

So all in all, a easy experience (even though I was nervous... something about an 'interview' that always makes me a little uneasy haha), questions were straight forward and after only a short wait, I now have my green card on it's way! Happy Days

Also just a quick mention regarding the I-693 medical. I had my overseas vaccination in Feb 2018 with all my vaccinations completed (except for the flu vaccine as it was not flu season in Australia). I provided a copy of my vaccination record (DS3025) with my I-485 submission and this was sufficient. I did NOT go to a civil doctor and re do any medical or vaccination part of the form for my interview as it was still within the 12 months of my overseas medical. The topic of the medical was not even brought up in the interview. Just wanted to add this in for others as this was something that I wasn't sure of and took a chance in not completing the additional medical just in case I didn't need it - which turns out I didn't!

If you have any further questions, let me know and good luck to the rest of you!!

While your case is still at the NVC, you will not receive anything from the Embassy.  You need to wait until your status says "ready" which indicates that not only is your packet at the embassy, but it is in their system.  Only after then should you expect to receive any communication from the embassy or if possible, you could email them.

As mentioned, Manila embassy generally doesn't ask for the I-134... but, you always go prepared... they may not ask for it again, or they may... think a lot is determined by the information they view in the original I-129f petition, which includes work history of the last five years.... it's 50/50 whether they will ask; but also consider, if not meeting the poverty guideline, how can one support someone else? Not to be rude or offensive... but even $30,000 a year in most places is hardly enough to live. So if not even at the $22,000 or whatever it is exactly amount, that's really stretching it.. there are a lot of other expenses besides rent and food.... what about cell phone bills, car insurance, car payments, down payment on a car, ect.... this all adds up really quickly... that doesn't even include date nights, dinners, movies, ect...

he will have to get a second job where he can earn enough to meet and have more than enough to be above the 100% of the poverty line. You have to remember that soon after POE, you will need to meet 125% of the poverty line. for purposes of AOS.

Aside from the cost of doing AOS and earning enough for the 125% level....have you guys considered the fact of cost of living? and monthly expenses of the SO not working? and months maybe of finding a jog after EAD or even GC?

This could be a significant burden to a relationship.

    Good Evening Everyone,
My husband completed his biometrics today.  By far, this has literally been the fastest part of this journey.

We arrived to our local USCIC office at 2:50pm for his 3:00pm appointment.  We were done and back in the car by 3:05pm.

Now onto more waiting; just happy yet again for any little bit of progress that comes our way.

Sounds like you are within normal processing times and unfortunately, becoming pregnant will not change anything about your case. This is going to sound harsh and insensitive, but is also entirely true - if being together or in the US was important for you both when it comes to having a baby, then you should have waited until that was the case. This process is unpredictable and you cannot guarantee when things will begin moving, as far as approvals. My advice, for the sake of your and your baby's health, is to put the priority of getting approved and into the US before it's born out of your mind. It will only stress you out and make the whole process and waiting game even more stressful than it already is. You don't need that right now. Pray about it, do absolutely everything within your realm of responsibility to be proactive and ready for the next step, when it comes, and leave it at that. It will work out the way it's going to work out, and this is one of those things we don't have very much control over.

Best of luck to you and your family!

I get you are upset but there is no other answer in your case than ‘well the state law says they can get rid of you but maybe if you speak to your boss they can be understanding’.

We have traveled our Visajourney to the end, success !

We followed the steps provided here on the Visajourney website, mixed with prayers, and support from our friends, my wife became a US Citizen on 8/12/2018!!!
It takes a lot of patience, but if you do your homework, file the correct documents, and supply the required information, you will win.

My wife took her Citizen exam on the Sept 12, 2018, she told the examiner she was able to answer all 100 questions, she killed it. My wife said she was a little disappointed because she was so ready they only asked her the simple questions. After her test, they invited her to take the oath, about 2 hours later on the same day. We had and huge hurricane coming in, and since we were already there in the office she agreed to take the oath. We were expecting to get a oath ceremony in about 2 weeks, we wanted to invite some of our friends to attend, but due to impending weather she went ahead and took the oath. We have a new American!!

My wife is from Romania, she told me, when she was a child and saw airliner fly over her house in Romania she would wonder if it was going to America, Our started our journey  2013,
and now she is here! Our next step is for her to pass her nursing license.

Many of you know about this, but what a feeling it is to be able to be part of someone's life long dream, and watch them become an American...the right way, and forever

    Thank you Visajourney!!
I have recommended at least 3 other people to join and win!

Best wishes to you all, God bless!

You can go straight to the courthouse from the airport after entering on a K1 and you'll be fine. There's no reason to wait. I don't exactly understand why some people wait till the end of their 90 days but it's their call.
