Hey,

I called NVC last monday and got our NVC number for our K1 petition. I have been checking the website multiple times in the past days and the status says "at NVC", so I was googling about that and apparently that means I should have gotten like a list with documents I need to submit? I just asked my mum, because im currently in the US and she said there hasnt been anything in the mail yet.

Can anyone explain me what the next steps are?

Cheers,

Darline

Ours is still at NVC too.

Fingers crossed they are sending our petitions out tomorrow or the day after!

That just means you can start to collect all necessary docs for packet 3 (the consulate in Frankfurt is going to send you packet 3 as soon as they receive your case) :)

For a k-1 you will not get a list from NVC.  You need to get any kind of list from your embassy or embassy website.   Many embassies do not send out anything because everything is available online

YMMV

No you're fine :)

You still have plenty of time to get everything done.

It would probably be good to fill out the i-134 form while you're still in the US and collect things like the most recent tax return, pay stubs etc :)

(You can also find packet 3 online)

While your case is still at the NVC, you will not receive anything from the Embassy.  You need to wait until your status says "ready" which indicates that not only is your packet at the embassy, but it is in their system.  Only after then should you expect to receive any communication from the embassy or if possible, you could email them.

To an extent that true but I still find Embassy's with little or no information. Many here have emailed their Embassy and were able to get the P3 or at least a checklist. As you stated NVC supplies nothing.

Here is some advance information or your Embassy.

https://de.usembassy.gov/wp-content/uploads/sites/21/Instructions-for-IV-and-K-Visa-Applicants-1.pdf

Visa Payment System information:

There is indeed a cash pay option but i wanted to do it online so i clicked on the "provide feedback" option and explained my situation and they said to wait 24 hours as well! Here is what they said about the cards: "In addition, please note that our payment gateway is set-up to process the following branded cards:

1. VISA Debit

2. VISA Electron

3. MasterCard Debit

4. Maestro

Just because a card is branded with VISA/MasterCard does not automatically mean it is a debit card. Many of the refusals we have seen are V/MC branded Credit Cards which we never accept.

In addition, there are a number of domestic debit card schemes that are available in the region. Each of these card schemes must have the following features to be accepted online:

1. Co-branded with VISA/MasterCard(Maestro) – i.e. they must have one of these logos on the card.

2. Contain a CVV number (this is the three digit number on the back of the card).

If they do not have both these features, they will not be accepted. "

Exactly,  that's why I didn't use all, most or a majority
