How much visiting is too much ?

I am Canadian and live in a border city. How much visiting is too much during the process ? Is couple of days every other weekend too much?

That question cannot be answered other than "Too much is when the Immigration Officer says it is too much".   It is subjective based on the sole judgement of CBP.

Haha. I don’t want to get to that point when the officer says too much. That is why I wanted to see if anyone had similar experience here

Unfortunately, I have seen some weird things happen at the Canadian border....everything from visiting spouses being denied entry to a case of a CR-1 visa holder being denied entry...... It is hard to predict.

i wish it was like it  use to be and we could go back and forth with ease

i use to follow baseball and hockey and cross weekly 

with a CR1 in process ,  seems pretty straight to me that u would not come ,  stay and go thru the ridiculously long AOS process to stay 

and CBP should worry more about contraband

but that's my opinion

 

and once a month to visit spouse especially when u show u have returned home after each visit should be good

I think short weekend trips will not cause issues, especially if you travel light. If you try to drive a Uhaul with all your belongings across the border, the officer will probably say that's too much.

The letter of the law states more time out then in,  so if you are out 4 days for every 3 days you are in,  you are good on that front, but as has been mentioned Canada/USA CBP is a crapshoot.

You are really at the mercy of the CBP officer. 9 times out of 10, you will be let through just fine. 
 

The worst that can happen is they ask you to turn around. Beware though, should this occur when it comes time to interview, you will likely be handed a 221G and put in AP. This can take as less as 2 hours to clear or up to 1.5 months. So you risk delaying your visa approval. 
 

This is why I never risked crossing the border while waiting for my CR1 visa.

More time in Canada than the US, strong ties to Canada, 9/10, you'll be fine.  Some people cross back and forth for years.

Just want to add in also. My cousin, USC, was having an engagement party and her fiancé, Canadian citizen, was denied entry after the flight to USA because of immigrant intent. They claimed it was just an engagement party and they won’t get married but still they denied him entry. His family traveled and got in just fine. But just a heads up even being Canadian; you’re still not completely travel free.

I have a good job and an apartment. I am just concerned if me going every other weekend for a couple of days is pushing it too much.

As long as you don't come with the intent to stay before your visa is processed and can show ties to Canada that you will go back, I think every other weekend is fine.
