all i read is they just want to make more money from this premium service

And not actually deliver the service.

45 days and $2500 to adjudicate and print an EAD? Something that takes an hour at most? That EAD must literally be made of gold, and the 45 days counts mining and smelting.

With this process, hold for any hope.

Thanks for posting the article.  For those of us waiting on family based cases this won’t help  at all and arguably will make things worse as USCIS is forced to adapt to new processes.  I also don’t see what concrete changes will be done to ensure a 6 month adjudication for cases.

The expansion of premium processing is welcome but doesn’t include family based cases.

And nothing at all for those waiting on NVC and consular processing.

It’s just another disappointment and false hope.

I think a lot of cases that are basically just rubber stamps could use basically an auto-approval system. DACA, DED, and TPS renewal cases these days are generally just: forms, check, and copy of EAD. Interim benefits (I-765 and I-131) while adjusting are also equally trivial: forms, copy of I-485 receipt, copy of previous EAD/AP (if renewal).

it supposed to be just like that, less than 30 mnts work, instead so many people devastated cant work for a year, cant drive ( unless you live in NYC ) cant do anything. it suppose to help them while waiting for GC to be approved.

$2500 for "premium" service is nonsense

u need to know what premium processing is

Among USCIS's new measures is a rule to expand "premium processing," which allows certain applicants to pay $2,500 in extra fees to have their cases reviewed on an expedited basis.

right now it is for certain visa types at the following rates

What is the new premium processing fee?

$2,500 if you are filing Form I-129 requesting E-1, E-2, E-3, H-1B, H-3, L (including blanket L-1), O, P, Q, or TN nonimmigrant classification. $1,500 if you are filing Form I-129 requesting H-2B or R nonimmigrant classification.Sep 30, 2021

They don't need to make concrete changes, they just set goals with no reward or negative consequences, and if they don't meet those goals, they will set some new ones.

That is not the I765 submitted with the AOS right?  I suppose if a K1 entrant wants to actually take advantage of their ability to work and they have $2500 to waste.  The CBS article was interesting though in that they mentioned phasing in premium processing for work based visas and gradually, one wonders if they will ever extend this to family based visas.  I also loved the statement they will hire more workers while also admitting that USCIS already has several thousand vacancies.

Also, what are the ramifications of not meeting the new goals?

Third coffee break or second smoke break is removed from all workers not meeting quota.  Except for those covered under union contract, in which case it is added.

ramifications?   that would mean someone had to actually keep track of all the petitions that paid extra??????

what job title is that?

can't they just fill the empty positions and work normal

About 10 years ago, my employer did the premium processing for my H1B visa and I think that it’s worth it. The USCIS Responded within 14 days with an RFE. We responded and received an approval within another 14 days.

And now, I have been waiting for a decision on my I-485 since September 2019. I wish there were premium processing on marriage based GC. Or any type of processing.

Honest to God/dess, USCIS ought to hire those of us who have completed the process to clear the backlog.  We know the forms.  We know the process.  We know the questions.  Most of us know what is acceptable proof.  I think we'd do a GREAT job!
