The idea of this proposal is to let tourists and other non immigrants oritneyiby journeys from Covid banned come to the USA without spending 14 days in a bridge country.

Immigrants have been given national Interest exceptions from this requirement.

So there is no reason to require an immigrant to be vaccinated before entering the USA.

Vaccines have been required for immigration for decades

Easy enough to get a vaccine card in the Philippines for 50 pesos or so.

I saw a couple of folks just got arrested in Hawaii with forged rona-vax cards.  Being Hawaii, I'm guessing they will get a stern talking to and a fine.  I wonder what happens when some contact tracer in Manila identifies a single foreigner who is part of a cluster of 500 cases.  Being the only foreigner, obviously,,,, he must be a sole source of all of the rona, and obviously,,,, that means his card is fake since if it was real how could he have infected half a million people in Manila.  NBI assigns a crack team of the countries finest forged document identifiers, TV news shows broadcasts gripping hour by hour coverage of "the guy'" being led around some police station by cops in hazmat suits, for the investigation about how his forged rona-vax card caused the deaths of thousands.

(ok, exaggerating and being sarcastic a little but...... getting caught with a forged card in some less developed countries, that are occasionally prone to witch hunts, could really take a wrong turn.  Someone would have to be pretty dumb to try it.  But I'm sure someone out there is up to the challenge.)

What I cant figure out some people are seemingly terrified by vaccines that have been proven pretty darn safe after being tested on like 4.6 billion people already, but think some genetically altered virus from a Chinese lab must be a trivial risk in comparison.  I mean, that genetically altered virus from the Chinese lab kills like less than one percent of people right?

Well, the experimental vaccines may be reasons for the variants. The vax doesn't quite kill off the virus, it doesn't quite prevent you from contracting the disease, and doesn't quite prevent you from spreading it. That's the makings of a variant generator and the variants that come out will be more virulent than before.

There were labs in China openly and deliberately manufacturing variants long before anyone outside of the "scientific" community ever payed it any attention.  Why should I believe vaccines have anything to do with it?  How would vaccine induced immunity be any more or less likely to create "variants" than "natural" immunity by being infected by laboratory produced virus?

It's not legal to require anyone to take an experimental vaccine. Also, if Biden's administration is soo worried about covid from immigrants, why are the illegal immigrants allowed to cross the border even when positive for covid? Even USC currently have to get the negative covid test prior to entering.

Well said!

You need experimental vaccine because the virus was experimental.

What if a foreign tourist or immigrant is fully vaccinated, but not with a vaccine that is FDA approved (or has an EUA), can they still enter??

My wife and I are waiting to get vaccinated and because of short supply, we may not have a choice in which vaccine we get. If it isn’t Pfizer, Moderna, JJ, or Astrazenca, we’re screwed?

Just a reminder that there isn't yet a specific plan nor a set deadline on implementation of that type of plan. The working groups are essentially just spitballing: https://www.usatoday.com/story/travel/2021/07/26/travel-restrictions-us-keep-ban-european-schengen-uk/8034481002/ "there are “ongoing working groups” focused on how to reopen international travel into the U.S. “There are a range of topics in those discussions that are ongoing,” Psaki said."

Yeah, I get that they're just spitballing for now, but I just sent a letter to the White House asking them to reconsider the path they're taking, which amounts to "discrimination" against nationals from lower- and middle-income countries just because they used a different vaccine and/or couldn't afford to buy enough Pfizer or Moderna doses. Strong wording, I know, but it should get their attention.
