Not sure where it did, but I had to do it. We used Boundless to compile the paperwork and have an attorney check it.

Seeing as I’m still living in the 3rd country, it was kinda painless. I was led to believe that if I were no longer here the process would have been a more drawn ordeal.

Good luck 🍀

I wish this was true. I lived in another country for 9 months (3rd bracket) and the required section still asked me to upload a police certificate from the other country.

But you have given me the idea to have my husband call NVC and ask if it is a mistake 🤔🙂

Hey Juliet57,

If you have lived only 9months in another country, you are not required to give a police certificate. That is weird they asked you for one anyway. Good idea to call them.

Clearly, NVC isn't following its own rules as some of us weren't supposed to be asked for clearances from countries  where we lived only for less than a year or six months.

Our lawyer is of the view that although some people submitted a letter explaining why such request from NVC to upload police clearance shouldn't be applicable  to them and they were successful, she thinks it has a high risk of significantly delaying the process should they reject it and advised us to try our best to secure same.

Btw, I am finally able to receive both certificates from the two countries after three weeks.

Hey guys, quick question to those who have submitted documents to NVC!

My spouse (the USC) is having trouble procuring the IRS tax transcripts; So they're wondering if turbotax/form 1040 returns are enough evidence? This is particularly tough as her income all came from abroad so no W2's and stuff.

Also might be important to note she has no income right now and is a student with parents as co-sponsors who have IRS transcripts and other appropriate evidence.

What's the issue with getting them?

At worst she can have them mailed. It takes a couple of weeks.

Or better yet simply hit print then "save as PDF" and it won't be editable anymore.

I did the same, after reading you guys i open up my transcripts that i sent and checked if they are editable or not and they are not, so good at this point.

So many things to be careful on. Now i will relax for 5-6 weeks, hopefully everything will go well.  Good luck to you guys !
