So did I... but I don’t recall the question being to work / education specific.

Me neither..that’s why we put UK on there for visiting. It’s probably a common mistake but I hope it will be okay

Here is a screenshot from CEAC for the much clearer instructions for the DS-160, which has the exact same travel question in the exact same place (under work and education). It’s a poor job of placement for the question as it is obviously confusing people, but hopefully this helps to make it more obvious.

Hi Everyone,

I was wondering if there is a way  to know if NVC has received my approved petition? My petition was approved on 11/01/2019, yet to receive any correspondence from NVCThere is no further case status update on myUSCIS. I received the NOA2 (approval letter) on November, 6, letter states as folllows " we have sent the petition to the U.S. Department of State National Visa Center (NVC)..."

Thanks for your help & suggestion in advance

Best way is to call NVC .

They probably received it now .

sometimes my USCIS is not update . Check your USCIS.gov . They don’t update everywhere

I think the part that’s concerning me most right now is employment history..

the question asked me if ive have other occupations.. so I said no, because I’ve been in this occupation 20 years..

but I’m now worried the question actually means other employers? I have switched employers, but always in the same occupation so to speak.. but only listed my current employer

Does anyone know if an administrative processing after DQ is due to an expedite?

I called again and she said still in that.. why...

The embassy gave us an expedite due to medical but NVC is being such a nonsense. They stick our case 😠 wonder what's going on.

Yes, you are supposed to list all employers for the last 10(?) years I believe, even if you answer that you have been in only one occupation. But the long and short of all this is that no matter the error, you can always address it at your interview (if they don’t address it first).

When I ticked no other occupations (given I only have one profession) it automatically skipped previous employers 😕 it wasn’t until after I submitted that I started thinking about other occupations may mean alternate employers..

The English language sucks sometime.. so many meanings for one word... English is the only language I speak, one can only envision the problems those with English as a second language have..

i hope it dosent slow us up... I’m so sick of this entire process

Some people don't get that question. I put no to other occupations and got asked for my previous employers the last ten years. If you didn't get the question then don't worry about it.

And like was mentioned above, these are minor things and can be corrected later if they're even brought up at all (which I doubt).

Some people get different questions opened based on the way previous questions were answered as well as age, gender, and place of origin. No worries! :)

Whereas I got asked everything possible outside of my blood type haha.

Lol..

its just worrying, that it seems to have skipped common questions for no reason that’s obvious to me.. I’ve still got 20 years of work before retirement.. and I’ve only been with my current employer for 18 months 🤷‍♀️

I honestly don’t understand why some people have to answer and others don’t 😞

Anywhere longer than 6 months and you need another police report for that country with an official translation.
