Can my fiance fly into Canada as her port of entry?

I live in Washington State USA,  and the closest major airport is Vancouver BC Canada.

We have been approved for our K1 fiance visa. She is from the Philippines.

We were wondering if she can fly from Manila into Vancouver, and we can cross the border into Washington State.

Can a K1 USA fiance visa have a Vancouver Canada port of entry?

Can we get special permission?

Thanks.

As long as she doesn't need a Visa to enter Canada, or is eligible for Visa on arrival, shouldn't be a problem. Check her visa requirements for Canada.

I just checked, she needs a tourist visa for entry into Canada. So you need to get that Visa first. I think it would be easier to fly and meet her, or drive to meet her at a larger airport.

There was a case not too long ago here where someone coming on a K-1 flew to Canada and met their fiance(e) and drove to the US from there, but I think the beneficiary was from New Zealand in that case. But it should be okay if your fiance can get a visitor visa for Canada (or a visa for transiting Canada).

Canada is not the US therefore not a POE. Her POE would be the land border she crosses into the US if she routes it this way.

She can apply for a visa from Canada.   Mary was able to get one.   You fill it out online and then submit it to and do biometrics VFS global in Makati.  I don't remember the exact amount but it was like $150 USD.  You go under temporary visitor visa and then select visitor visa,

Mary's was good until her passport expired.

There is also a transit visa.**

When I lived in BC, we would cross frequently to go shopping in Bellingham, and a few times we drove to Seattle.  I imagine Seattle must have a large enough airport she could fly into to avoid having to go through the Canadian visa process?

If not, can she get a flight anywhere else in the US and a connecting flight to Seattle?  May be cheaper that way :)

At the end of the day, it IS possible, just some extra steps.

This seems like a bit of an extra hassle. But if you don't mind applying for her to get a tourist visa for Canada, then sure. Personally, if I were you, I'd book her flight directly to the US to avoid dealing with Canadian immigration issues unless that is super easy (no idea, I am Canadian haha)

Being a little too literal there guys.

He was asking about logistics and convenience not misunderstanding geography.

Believe it or not many people in Philippine think that Canada is owned by the USA, and Vancouver is a US State.

This will not work

A tourist visa in Canada wouldn't work to enter the USA on K1 visa

What she gonna tell immigration there at border when she comes into the USA?

I have a Canada Tourist Visa, but I want to enter US to marry my bf? I have never traveled to Canada in a vehicle, but I just don't see this working.

She will have a K1 Visa as well.  You can have as many visas in your passport as you have pages if you need

YMMV
