I wrote a blog post on my site after doing a few months of research on obtaining a CR1 or IR1 visa. I did it from the standpoint of obtaining one for a Romanian spouse, but it applies to any foreign spouse as the steps are the same.

I went over the complete process that will be required at the NVC stage, such as financial of support affidavits, and obtaining civil documents. You can check it out if you want it might help. http://roamingromania.com/blog/obtain-cr1-ir1-spouse-visa/#step5-nvc

Hi, my husband and I have a large age gap (24 years). I'm 24 whilst he's 48. I had 3 years worth of chats with Him. I sent WhatsApp transcripts to my email by clicking on his name on whatsapp and choosing to 'export chat'. I then used Microsoft word and wrote down each month e.g January, February, March...  and copied some of the chats we had during the specific month. I left out all the juicy bits! That made it a lot easier, more organized and less documents to send in...

Btw, in regards to your 'less frequent' issue, I only copied 4  little conversations per month.. It was literally a small paragraph per month to show we consistently talked. It looked like we barely talked per month even though we talked every single day! I just know they wouldn't want to look thru all our conversations! You don't need to worry!

I think they put more importance on your face to face meetings so make sure you've got pictures together, plane tickets, hotel reservations etc etc.

We had 0 problems during the interview and throughout the process. No one mentioned the age difference! I am now in the USA and have filed for my AOS. Hope this helps!

Ben/Zian, I sent in so much documentation and pictures of us together, his approval expires on 4/27. What’s the appeal process? Our age shouldn’t play a factor in this matter no discrimination regardless of age, gender,  religion etc

CO think as an energetic young guy from Nigeria not married, no child, no big tiers in the  country. what do you get to loose when you don't return!! co decision to refused was already made from the ds-160 you summited so there was no need to verify your documents, good luck next time.

The petitioner can re-establish domicile anytime before the beneficiary enters the US or they can go together.  I maintained my residence in the US while we lived in Mexico.   I included copies of the HOA, utility and insurance bills.  No issues there.

Bayman reacted to pushbrk in I-864 Income borderline but plenty of assets
If the assets are liquid and you can document them, you should be fine.  If they are real estate, other than your own home, you'll need to document the value, the mortgage and count only the equity.  Study those I-864 instructions very carefully.  "Income" in this context, comes from line 22 on the first page of your 1040 forms.

Note to other responders that the self employed REPORT business revenue.  "Income" is what is left over after deducting legitimate business expenses.

I overstayed the 60 day grace period of my F1 visa back in 2015 for a period of 30 days. The reason for my overstay was because I was waiting for my masters diploma to be issued, since the college I attended doesn't ship diplomas internationally.

Would I be required to fill out a waiver for my 30 day overstay? I have already filled out the DS160 and disclosed this information. We're just waiting for the interview to be scheduled at this point

There is no difference to the US Government between "traditional" and "legal" marriage.  Married is married.  I've seen this many times in the K-1 forums.  There is no such thing as a non-marriage marriage.

Our NOA1 date is September 24th 2018 and no news either. The USCIS expect it to take 5.5-7.5 months to process so before that there ain't much we can do. The date for making an inquery is at the moment July 21th so we'll have to wait a while yet and hope and pray that we'll get the NOA2 soon 😊

Bayman got a reaction from s007rrt in Why would an I130 application be forwarded to a local office when the beneficiary is not in the USA?
Being call for interview as a petitioner is not part of the usual application process. It means that your application has been single out because it contain something inconsistences. 1. you should find out from your beneficiary what exactly was in  the previous tourist application made sometimes ago before the interview. a hard-nosed uscis  officer will engaged in a harsher tactics to find out everything so beware of that. Be honest about everything you will say and things will go well on your side. wish you all the best with much support from VJ.

Morocco is tough to get a K-1 approved because it is a high-fraud country, with lots of young men trying to meet American women online simply to get out of the country, then once in the US they do just enough to get a green card and then divorce their spouse.  So there will be extra scrutiny of the relationship.  If  you have only had one visit, be prepared for a denial.  Multiple visits, over an extended period of time, might help avoid a denial, and also give you peace of mind that his intentions are real, that he's not just using you.  What does he say when you talk about maybe moving to Morocco to live with him there, to have a life together in his country?  His response is a good indication of his true feelings for you.  Are there any red flags like age difference, religious difference?  Some who try and are denied K-1 visas end up getting married in Morocco and then try CR-1 spousal visa, but to succeed with that you need additional visits, lots of time spent together, documentation to prove everything, and co-mingling of finances evidence.  Good luck!

I know how frustrating this is but please do not focus on the process.  Our NOA2 was 270 days for our K-1 last year.  I know how much it hurts.  Your wives and husbands feel it too.  This will take as long as it takes.  Don't waste all of that time stressing over the process.  Talk to your spouse.  Hold each other as close as you can.  Even if the beneficiary doesn't mention it, this is more difficult on them.  Not only are they stuck in this same situation, when it is over they will leave their friends, family, homes to travel to a strange country to be with their loved ones.  This is a long a stressful journey.  Please tell your spouse you love them.  Let them know that everything is going to be OK.  The process does not always seem logical so sit back and let it happen.  Focusing on the process is stealing valuable minutes away from the reason for the process.

Things are moving incredibly fast right now.  CR-1 approvals is less that 300 days is actually amazing with the current priorities.  The change in focus last April threw the brakes on family visas.  It is getting better now.  Sit back and enjoy the fact that every second that ticks by is 1 second closer.
