What about this recent case? In Pakistan, it is NEVER wise to start "packing his stuffs" until the visa is in hand........Your advice is reckless and dangerous!!

You literally have no idea what you are talking about.  There is loads of stories here about delays in AP for Pakistan.

 

The advice you are giving is harmful. What if people quit their jobs, sell their stuff/homes and then all of a sudden are stuck for months potentially. This could ruin peoples lives. The whole point here is to wait until the visa is in their hands. There is literally no harm in waiting, as opposed to what you are suggesting

I have nothing to prove. You have already proven that you have no idea what the process is for a CR-1 in Pakistan, and that your advice to sell everything without having the visa in hand is unfounded and ridiculous.

You know literally nothing about the difference between an EB-3 and a CR-1 and the difference between a high fraud country like Pakistan and a low fraud country. Nothing.

 

Where are the mods to stop this person from spreading highly false and misleading information?

A friend of mine and her husband, who was very active on this site and her husband is from Pakistan, were denied a CR-1 visa AFTER being in AP for just shy of 3 years. In total, it took 6 years for his visa to FINALLY be approved and this is NOT uncommon for Pakistan.

Nobody is saying the OP will get extended AP. Just pointing out that Pakistani nationals - especially young men - do have a good chance of doing so.

The criminal checks alone tend to take time. Per the DOS, they do not trust the PCCs, hence why they are not actually even required for Pakistan. This does not always equate to long AP, but it can be one common factor.

Also, a DS-5535 is often requested at some point after the interview with Pakistan (although their version doesn't say DS-5535 on it IIRC...but it's the same thing).

Things are heated up here..... Selling any thing is never a good advice... Though i myself has said that visa will be issued in 3 business day but please dont give advice to sell things before visa is in hand.....

He might have good intentions but I agree with others its a dangerouus suggestion.
