When my wife arrived to LAX, they asked her my name, where I lived and if she knew how long we had to marry.

They look at all your papers inside the brown envelope and they may or may not ask anything. It's usually a few casual questions related to the situation. Personally, the CBP office asked me how we met and when we were going to get married.

Each case is different and they may have more or less questions for you.

They might ask "Do you plan to marry within 90 days?"     If they ask that, say "YES"......

There has been at least one case I recall that a K-1 immigrant was asked that.  He said "Maybe......Maybe not".............they denied entry and sent him back to his country.......

In all seriousness, relax..........99.999999999999% of K-1 immigrants don't have issues entering......

"The US immigration process requires a great deal of knowledge, planning, time, patience, and a significant amount of money.  It is quite a journey!"

Just depends.

I had a female friend who got harassed at POE with CBP trying to get her to go home since her K1 petitioner had an arrest on his record for fighting,  Had her crying

I was asked a couple of questions, just if I was ready to marry, if I understood the visa, etc. You have nothing to worry about, they're just making sure you understand the terms of the visa in most circumstances.

I recently entered through Atlanta. I had to sit and wait for my name to be called for longer than what the "interview" was. I was asked:

"Do you speak English?"

"You have until July to get married, are you aware that you can file for EAD along with your AOS?"

And that was it. I was wished a nice day and we went on our way.

I was asked if I was traveling with my husband. Yes he specifically asked if he was my husband. I was a K1 they do sometimes ask this and if the answer is yes then back home you go. I answered we are not married yet but he was over there with his mother and my kids.  We had to drive down with two vehicles. Kids, pets and a load of stuff.

“Is he a navy guy?”

”when’s the wedding?”

“How’d you meet?”

“Why isn’t he here right now?”

He was really just making conversation aside from ensuring we’d marry within 90 days. Not something to worry about.

The CBP officer read through some of the sealed packet and looked at the customs declaration card. Then he said there was a discrepancy between the address of residence on the card and the address of residence listed in the packet. He said the packet said we were living in San Jose which was different from the card (we live 10 minutes from San Jose).

I (the petitioner, traveling with my fiancée) said that everything we contributed to the packet had the correct city. After looking again, the officer agreed.

He then stamped by fiancee’s passport and told us we have 90 days to get married.

And we we were on our way and in an Uber home 10 minutes later.

Came thru LAX. Asked her birthday, where we were going to be living, and asked when the big day was ( Meaning Marriage). Pretty basic and simple questions. Was a very pleasant experience, feel free to check my POE review in my timeline for more details.

CBP asked me if about the cheese I declared and checked that I knew it had to be pasteurized. Regarding to K1 he didn't ask anything. This was in Dublin (pre-clearance)
