But I cannot afford to go back.... and it's not like I have money right now to buy a ticket for June. 

I really wanted a family..but I'm at end of my 30's 

He is at the beginning of them. We do not look anywhere near like there is a significant age difference. 

Honestly I'm torn right now. ....????

I am not here to judge your relationship, but have you evaluated the possibility that he may just want a greencard? From the outside this looks like a textbook case of someone from a 2nd or 3rd world country out for a greencard. Not saying it is but perhaps you should spend some more time with him before making such a huge commitment.

But I am on the fence about marriage now in what location. I am more so worried with time and if everyone keeps saying I should visit again..I might as well should have gotten married last month when I was there.

The thing about the Casablanca consulate is that there is rarely a clear case. There isn't really a 'right' way to go about the process there. 

You get married on your first visit? In most countries that would be fine, but the Casablanca consulate views this as a rushed marriage for visa benefits. They will ask, "how could you marry someone you just met on your very first visit"? 

You file for a K1 visa after just one visit? Again, they think it is a rushed relationship where the Moroccan is just looking to come to the US. This is especially true if the online relationship has been very brief, and the idea of marriage/engagement was pushed forward very quickly.

 

The reality is, there are many cases of fraudulent relationships for green card purposes. It might not seem fair to 'genuine' couples, but unfortunately many years of fraud cases have lead up to this.

I agree with some who have posted above me that this stands out as suspicious. I would understand if he said he didn't want to touch/be intimate because that is what his faith commands, but this reason is bizarre...

If you feel your relationship is real and you don’t want to lose time, I would suggest you move there. You can get a well paying job teaching English in many of the bigger cities ( Casablanca, Tangier etc) and live in a modern apartment, so no hole in the floor etc. It would be enough money to pay your rent, buy food, go out etc. 

You could go this route and have a stronger case for time spent together and also get married in Morocco, just bring and FBI background check to be on the safe side as some police stations request it and others don’t. It would also be a great way to learn more about your future husbands culture, his family, etc.

Well yes it is because of his religion but he made that statement before I ever met him in person. His view may have a small difference but I dont want to be pregnant or have a kid alone either.

He is Muslim and I am not. We are both ok with that.

I read where someone else had a morrocan ceremony also on here..the consulate thought they were already married but it's the traditional engagement. But they were approved It is important in their country. I'd like to have a family soon I cannot do that with us being so far apart. 

Most do not have engagement party as to be honest "most can not afford it"

any party especially with an IMAM is considered married in Islam religion

married for a marriage certificate is done in the clerk of the court and certificate registered by clerk in Rabat 

 

any photos of an engagement party will look as marriage to CO

 

not to discourage u but understand Many of us have had to make several (5 trips for me) to be approved for a visa from Casa

he is muslim / you are not /  this is not a problem in Morocco/  only when the woman is a muslim and man is not is there an issue

9 yrs   la mochkila means no problem    start learning Arabic

wanting children is also a plus

 

not learning English is more of a problem / he has to start to speak it/  he can master writing it here if he is awarded a visa 

he can get help filling out the DS 160 or if married DS 260

 

again,  please look at the cost of this process

 

ask VJ members for a breakdown of K1 and CR1 costs if you don't know what you are getting into

It took us 5 days and roughly $500 to get married in Morocco.  

 

I've been there 5 times now in 2.5 years after an unapproved K1...and we speak same language and are both Muslim too. It wasn't what I wanted but rarely do people get everything they want.  

 

So if your K1 isnt approved what will you do then?

I have read all the comments on this thread, and for what its worth will add my 2 cents

first you have quite a few "red flags" 

age difference where the woman is older, not a common language, not a common religion, not a common cultural background, only 1 visit, not a very long visit

 

It seems that a family is critically important to the OP, so perhaps it would work best to evaluate what your goals are, if a family is number 1, consider moving there at least temporarily, get married, work on kids, and file the CR1 while you live there

you can move back when it is approved

With immigration it is basically impossible to get everything you want, I got married alone in Pakistan because my number 1 priority was to bring my husband to the US ASAP without having to undergo more immigration stuff right after he came here, also we wanted to work on kids right away

The best advice I can give is do your research.  This embassy is incredibly tough read through this site on other k-1 denials to see the reasons why.  Research red flags to see what cases are similar to yours.

 

Learn about Islam..even if you have no plans to convert you need to know and understand it.  Know your rights as a future wife and understand the Nikah (if you marry this way).

 

Study his culture...you will tend to have a few cultural clashes getting this stuff out in the open now is vital before taking on any commitment.   

 

There is no way to short cut it..it will be a long journey you must be ready for it.

u will never get a visa from Morocco

i was 5 yrs to get a visa

5 trips

you have to have seen the person in person within 2 years of interview

what is wrong with talking more

getting to know him better

understand Islam and his beliefs especially in Ramadan as even the ones with little faith celebrate Ramadan

 

get a second job as "if you can't aford to go back,  you can't afford immigration"
