You should receive a Notice of Action (NOA1) at your mailing address provided.

Sorry, what I meant to ask was how will NVC notify us that they received the package from USCIS? You mentioned I should call, I was just wondering if that is what they want or if they are just that unreliable.

NVC will mail and email you, if you have an email on file. You calling will get you your case and invoice number over the phone, meaning you can start your online NVC process (choosing agent, paying Bill's, etc.) sooner. You don't need to call, but then you will have to wait for letter to be generated, printed, and mailed to you.

Once NVC receives your case it is taking about 6-7 weeks to get a case number. If you call before then they will just say we received your case and is taking up to 8 weeks to give a case number. My NOA2 date is 02/12 and they sent it to Dept of State on 02/21. That’s the last I heard from USCIS. So a couple weeks ago I called NVC and was able to get a hold of someone saying they received my case on 03/01 and that I will hear back from them within 8 weeks. There is another forum here for March 2019 NVC filers. I’m reading that people are getting case numbers in a little over 5 weeks. Yet again another waiting game. ☹️

Hello Friends,

I am approaching the 6 months point and still haven’t heard back even though a lot of October, November, and even December filers are getting their NOA2. Should I call CS and speak to a live agent or just keep waiting? PD is 10/09 (Potomac Service center)

According to this page, average time is 8.5-11 months for the Potomac Center to process I-130 petitions.  https://egov.uscis.gov/processing-times/

I just got it. Mines says May 31. It’s an estimate based on other approval timelines. Let’s see if it’s right. Hopefully sooner 🙏
