Any chance I can get citizenship before 2020 election

I will complete my 5 years on September 18th 2020.  Earliest I can file is June 20th 2020.

I lived in Detroit, MI area for over 7 years, where minimum estimate for N400 processing is 5 months.  Now I live in Austin, TX area, and the service center near me is San Antonio, TX. Minimum wait time is much higher there.

Now that date is less than 2 years away, what can I do to accelerate my citizenship process?

Should I file from Detroit claiming I lived there for 7 years? Should I plan to have a 3-month temporary residence in a fast processing state?

You're very unlikely to obtain citizenship, let alone meet voting registration deadlines, in that timeframe.

Do NOT lie to immigration, period. This is the quickest way to not only be denied, but potentially lose your LPR status.

I do not think intention to lie was in any part of my question. I asked for legal ways to fast track citizenship process WITHOUT ANY LIES OR ANYTHING ILLEGAL.

You must file based on your current residence.

Again...military would be your best bet in that timeline. I believe you must serve for at least 1 year then you can apply.

Why do you want to fast track so bad?

Unless there are drastic changes in processing times, there is little to no chance you would get citizenship in time to vote in 2020.

lots of folks already answeres your questions. i totally agreed!

1, if TX is your permanent (only) home address, your N400 will be processed by TX local office. your Detroit residence history has nothing to do with your case even they approve overnight.  if you just temporarily live in TX but still maintain Detroit residence and claim tax as Michigan resident, you are eligible to file as Michigan resident.

2, if you are not refugee and you earned your permanent resident through work-based category, you can not do anything to expedite your case. Joining military might be an option but do you real want that  path ?   for majority N400 applicants, they just live with it. Being citizen or not would not give their lives big difference. Voting might be one of them but why so urgent to vote on 2020 ?

ATTENTION!!!   Minneapolis N400 filers,  please use the link below to review others or update your status .!  Changes will be saved automatically. Best luck to all of us!

Your previous post says otherwise.  If you no longer live in Detroit, you can't "file from Detroit claiming I lived there for 7 years."

Second joining the Military.

Unless you join the military then there is no way to become a USC by then.
