  1. Oh that sucks but at least you know now. So just buy the ticket now and carry the documentation with you to show the name change. As I said on another thread my wife has done this many times now without issue at all. The most recent time was back in August when she flew back from Davao to the USA. Edit: At least you know about EVA Air not doing it. I made the mistake the first time we flew back there in 2014 and Philippine Air charged us $100 to change it
  2. Have you guys reported the marriage to the embassy? If you have then you can update her passport with the married name, if you haven't then you can't. My asawa has flown many times from the US to the Philippines with a passport in her maiden name and a green card in her married name
  3. Depending on the airline that will charge a fee to do this.
  4. Long time no see everyone. I hope everyone is doing good here because I am doing good. I want to say thank you for the people that supported me back during my election. We didn't win (which was expected) but I did make sure that he actually had to campaign for his job instead of just coasting. Also he had to put in alot of money into his campaign just to beat little old me. Now, I am still here in NC and the wife is finally deciding to file for Naturalization while I am behind the scenes here in NC as a unpaid consultant to a number of politicians on veterans issues here in the state. I just wanted to stop by to say Hey and that I might start becoming more active here again
  5. No, if you are overseas as a spouse of a US civilian or military servicemember it is just like if you are here in the USA>
  6. No, a CFO SHOULD not be required for her since it is only a B2 tourist visa. Unfortunately sometimes the Philippines airport authorities try to exert their power to deny people. Remind her to be strong and she shouldn't have a problem at all
  7. So did you show your original CENOMAR or CEMAR at the interview, if not why? Since you were married in the Philippines you will need the CEMAR AND the divorce decree from Singapore. It needs to be the certified document from the Singaporean government.
  8. They will be fawning over him all the while he don't have to answer any questions about the EPA superfund site in Ohio
  9. They will still redo x-rays even if you bring your old ones. If you don't bring your immunization paperwork then you will just get more shots there.
  10. Do you have an idea where she is PCSing to next, how are you feeling about that? I have always heard that living in Germany with the AF/Army is pretty great. A lady I used to work with is over there right now loving life. She actually extended over there because she went in December 2019 right before Covid hit and wasn't able to do much then. Now they are doing alot of things and they are living it up. She is constantly trying to get me over there but to be honest with you I am trying to go over to Japan or Singapore as a DAC.
  11. Awesome thing to see. How are you liking Germany as a dependent? I have some coworkers over there know working for the Army
  12. We just used paper clips to help separate everything and had no issues
  13. No, the USCIS does send the NOA2 to the beneficiary in the Philippines.
  14. Actually the Fedex/DHL route is actually very fast but not cheaper. It took about 2 weeks for me to receive documents from Paserbilis the last time I went that route with Fedex. If you use the Philpost/USPS route you may never get it. Just a FYI @kviking
  15. This is what I did when I booked my asawa's nd our daughters flights. I looked on Expedia then I looked on the Singapore Air site directly. What surprised me is that it was actually cheaper on the Singapore site directly than going through expedia. Which is anyone doesn't know is that they fly directly in to Davao with having a stop in Manila .
  16. Yep this happened to me in the Philippines and it was not pretty at all. I had to buy a new ticket from Manila to DVO because original flight from DVO was cancelled
  17. Sorry every for being a bit busy and depressed since the election. I wanted to give an update on my election results to everyone in here that helped out and encouraged me. Well I put up a good fight but I did not win the election but I did get 47% of the vote in a leans Democrat district. I was depressed for a few weeks but now I am ok and just ready to strive forward an keep pushing my opponent to where he needs to be
  18. You act like many of the laws in the Philippines concerning marriage make sense when in reality they don't
  19. You should be good to go because I used a certified copy of ours but you know the Philippines. But this is what the embassy says: C. BALIKBAYAN PROGRAM Returning balikbayan may enter the Philippines without a visa and stay for a period one (1) year for tourism purposes. Under the Balikbayan Program (Republic Act 6768) of the Philippine government, the term balikbayan includes: A Filipino citizen who has been continuously out of the country for a period of at least one (1) year from date of last departure; A Filipino overseas worker; A former Filipino citizen and his family members as this term is defined hereunder, who has been naturalized in a foreign country and comes or returns to the Philippines provided that the former Filipino citizen can show proof that his or her former Philippine citizenship (e.g. old/cancelled Philippine passport, Birth Certificate, or naturalization papers) upon arrival in the Philippines. Foreigner spouses and children travelling with the former Filipino citizens may avail of this privilege by presenting before immigration officials legal documents establishing relationship with the former Filipino citizen upon arrival in the Philippines. These documents could either be a Marriage Certificate (for spouses) or Birth Certificate (for children). This privilege can only be availed of by family members/relatives if they are traveling to the Philippines together with the balikbayan (former Filipino). https://www.philippineconsulatela.org/consular-services-2/visa/persons-exempt-from-visa-requirements
  20. When I was there all they needed was the marriage certificate that is it. So I would bring the photocopy and you should be good to go
  21. Well where is living now, HK or the Philippines? She can leave to come to the USA as soon as she gets the visa no matter from what country she decides to visit.
  22. Well that was the "trick" a few years back was to "convert" then do a Sharia law divorce that would satisfy being divorced for the US Embassy. This was done in order to bypass the long annulment process. That was until Duterte asked the US Embassy to stop accepting this from people being petitioned.
  23. That is wrong. Yoh will get a CEMAR that will take to the embassy with your divorce certificate. This applies for both K1s and CR1 in your situation.
