I know that feeling. I scanned NOA2 the moment I got home, and have it on google drive, and every once in awhile I would pull it up even while at work and look at the image to make sure its real.

Today I finally got e-mail from NVC reaffirming our NVC case number (something I knew already from calling them earlier this week)

Oh, I know. The first thing my fiance did, upon getting off the plane and coming home, was to scan the envelope and the NOA2 itself and email it to me ;) I also used to look at it daily a few days in a row but eventually relaxed

They requested expedite. No luck with that, but the case has been looked at early and adjudicated soon enough. We are a complicated case IMO, both for USCIS and the Embassy, but we made it at 179 days without an RFE. Frankly speaking I sort of expected an RFE, notwithstanding the fact that we frontloaded (heavily). Seeing 'approved' came a kind of a shock to me. I took the tablet to my visiting fiance and asked what can he see there. He must have thought I've overdone it with drinks that night :)

out of curiosity, what made your case complicated? I believe mine is complicated as well

RoC sent 10/30/21

NOA 11/16/21

Check Cashed 11/18/21

Biometrics Waived 01/19/2022

Hello all,

I just found this site when googling for some answers regarding my K-1 visa.  Briefly to state where I have gotten:

Aug 4 - I live in California and mailed my I-129f packet to the USCIS in Dallas as directed.

Aug 14 - I received my Receipt (NOA1)

January 19 (today) - I received the hard copy, fancy paper I-797 Approval Notice (NOA2?). It says my petition has been approved and forwarded to the listed consulate. This notice was mailed from Dept. of Homeland Security in California, so my petition was there.

My question is what’s next? Do I have my fiancé in Philippines fill out the DS-160 or wait for further instructions from them? The validity date of the Approval Notice is 1/14/2019 to 5/13/2019.

you still have a while until your packet makes it to the Embassy there. figure 2 weeks to get to NVC, another week or two to get to Embassy. read through the k1 guide here, it'll give you good baseline knowledge.

Here are your steps and links to help you along the way.

1. She can complete the DS-160. I recommend that the two of you work on it together. You enter your information, she enters her's and then you both look over the finished form and if everything looks exact then she can submit the form. Once she has submitted the DS-160 she will get a confirmation page to print off. I suggest that you print a copy but also save a copy to a thumb drive for future use if need be.

2. She prints a copy of the MRV receipt and goes to BPI and pays the interview fee. Then wait 24 hours and then schedule the interview.

3. She then will go and have her medical exam.

There are a few more things for her to do but I will let you read the links that contain that information below.

Additional information can be found here:

Also, there is a sub-forum for the Philippines here on VJ that you should be a part of. It's a good place to read what others are experiencing which will only prepare you for your interview.

Manila US Embassy states that a scanned copy of the signed I-134 is fine, if you don't have the original.

We got our NOA 2!!!! We are both living and working in Korea and it was mailed to my parents house in the USA. They have been out of town for a week and came home to a I-797!  The website still shows the same “case processing “ message so we were pleasantly surprised! NOA 1 was August 29 and the NOA 2 is January 14, so  right at the 4.5 month mark.

Awesome, congrats!  We're now up to 83 people for the month of August 😊

I was just trying to get ahead of schedule and started filling out the DS-160.  I didn't complete it yet but I noticed it said the first available appointment is March 7.  Do someone know if those dates change to earlier dates due to more open slots or cancellations?  AND once all of my stuff makes it to the Embassy and I schedule my appointment, can I change that appointment if I see that an earlier date has opened up?

Hello everyone! My and my fiance sent our application on 2018.08.09, and on 2018.08.14 he received NOA1. As I see many of those who applied in August, even in the end of month already received their NOA2. We haven't got anything by post, just our status changed from "received" to "we updated your name", which is weird, cause there was no typographical error and my fiance didn't apply for any changes in our application. What do you guys think, is there something we should worry about? I'm getting worried more and more each day 😥

I'm pretty sure you can reschedule to an earlier date if a slot opens up due to someone cancelling :) I think you would have to call the embassy..I don't think you can reschedule yourself.
