From what I understand, you need to complete the medical exam and have the results with you before the interview- so, if you want to schedule your medical and interview now, go ahead, but make sure you have enough time between the medical exam and the interview (5 business days?). It can take around 5 days for the embassy to receive your petition, so I would say that if you want, you could get the first interview date that occurs after 3 weeks from now (just to be safe). Hypothetical: embassy receives petition in 1 week from now, you schedule your medical for 2 weeks from now, and have the interview 3 weeks from now. We waited until the embassy received it and then scheduled the medical and the interview. If we had known we could do the ds160 and schedule everything sooner... We would have... But!! Trust the process. But don't wait for the embassy to tell you to book the medical exam and interview. They won't notify you. We waited like a week after NVC said the embassy had received it.

Well everyone on visajourney says they ship the petitions to the consulates every other tuesday. So they shipped it yesterday, and the next shipment will be 3/05... so I would have to time it for the end of march. I could realistically do that. But what happens if the shipment is delayed. Lol maybe im just over thinking it. I just dont wna delay the process.

U waited until the petition was "in transit" to ur consulate right? Better safe than sorry lol
Kaputski on 2019-02-21 said:
It is much better safe than sorry...!!

I am trying to scheudule my OFC appointment online at ustraveldocs.. and any date and time I pick the website wont let me have it. Am i doing something wrong? Lol
Gc0988 on 2019-02-21 said:
It's saying "that appointment time isn't available. Try again"
Kaputski on 2019-02-21 said:
Marco did all of that, I didn't- my best guess is that the embassy first needs to receive the petition (there might be some sort of hold on your profile they need to lift) But I don't know

I called the NVC and they dont have any interview dates available. So i guess i will have to wait 😶🤷🏽‍♂️ And my profile will be unlocked tmro or the next day. Did ur fiance have to wait a long time to scheudule the appointment?
Gc0988 on 2019-02-21 said:
Seems like most embassies are back logged lol
Kaputski on 2019-02-21 said:
The embassy had had the petition for one week before we scheduled his interview. Once the embassy receives it, you should be able to schedule your interview

Ah ok. Thanks for all the help! Lol ur a life saver. Last question 😂 after I fill out the ds160 and pay the visa fee. Is there anything else i need to send the NVC? Or just wait until they email me. I talked to an agent, and he said that the NVC does the rest. But they are so vague in their responses
Kaputski on 2019-02-21 said:
You don't have to do anything except do your medical exam, get the results (do NOT open them!!! They will be invalid if you open them!!!) And Ace the interview :D NVC does the rest- if you're approved, they will take your passport and let you know when to go back and pick it up (with the visa!)
Gc0988 on 2019-02-21 said:
Perfect thanks! I have read that the interview is quick and painless. Im glad lol
Kaputski on 2019-02-21 said:

Hey i scheuduled my visa interview appointment. How long did it take to get the email from NVC once the embassy recieves the petition? A couple days i hope lol Because obviously we need that letter for the medical right?

Hi 😃 I am having the same issue with the NVC! Trying to get an appointment for OFC. How long did you have to wait to get an appointment? I’ve already filled out the DS-160 & paid the fee but there are no embassy appointments.
Kaputski on 2019-03-15 said:
Maybe they are booked up. check future dates?
LaSeñoraBaez on 2019-03-15 said:
Yeah I called and that’s what they said. But it only shows me dates in March & April. It won’t let me go into the future

Hello, I see you got approved. Can you tell us how was the interview and what question they ask. And what evidences did you bring to the interview.

Hi. Congrats. Wondering how anyone can pay anything or schedule anything with the invoice number. Our case is at the consulate and we have heard nothing from them. Tried to do the ds260 but the first thing it asks for is a invoice number. Did you have this issue?

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
