Happy Easter everyone. On this day, we feel especially blessed that we have each other during this difficult times (and soon to be welcoming our little one). Our hearts go out to ones who have been in the same K1 process with us, but are still kept physically apart. Good luck to you all!

My husband and I have been together for six years. I lived with him in Europe in our own place then returned here to start school. Both of us cannot work of course he cant because he doesn't have an EAD and I cannot because I am in a vigorous course so that resulted in us staying with my parents until we have everything settled. We are also pretty young (early 20s). So we dont have any bills under our names, dont have a mortgage or will, or any of that. We are also of course broke and weren't able to have a proper wedding ceremony. We just got married and had a dinner. My issue is this will look terrible for them but the reality is we are just a young broke married couple, we have been living our life together and everything is great, but I am not sure what type of proof we can use. Thank you! 

Yep, I’m doing pre reqs for a graduate nursing program (DNP) right now while going through immigration and having a 9 month old baby 😂 Oh and we lived with my husbands parents in the first 3 months as well, just recently moved to our own place, literally furnished it with stuff we found at the goodwill 🤪 I know how overwhelming this stuff can be. Keep pushing girl, you got this 😊🙏

Hi!  I didn't expect to see it on a Saturday (it IS Saturday isn't it lol) but today we were updated to "ready to be scheduled for an interview"  3 weeks and 1 day after they received our response to RFIE.  We are so grateful and feel beyond blessed in this dark time, to receive this news.  What an Easter gift.  Praise God!

I just sent my AOS package today 🥳
Should hopefully get delivered on Monday. I prepared it for months and really hope everything will go well.

Mailed at end the end of march, It was received via ups on April 7th. 

We filed!!!!!!!!!! Background: we were at the interview stage for K1 but circumstances changed that led to us having to abandon the K1. Then fiance came on a visitor visa and we got married last month before things shut down. We got so lucky, hopefully this will continue with AoS

@Letspaintcookies. Our AOS interview was waived  today and Ryan was approved with card in production. 
I’m not sure January filers have seen my post or not. 
Keep up your hope that it may be approved quicker than you think.

we too... K1 11/19, POE 12/19, Married 12/19, submitted 2/20, today 4/9/20 received case ready for scheduling interview....
 
PLEASE PLEASE.. COVID19 makes many cases waived interview.... its a difficult time for everyone.. even federal employees...

@K1visaHopeful  -  yesterday on 04/07 we received New Card Being Produced and today 04/08 is has changed to Case Approved for i-485!  We had a Interview scheduled for 04/15 and got the cancellation notice about last week.  We are very excited at this because we were certainly not expecting it! 

The interview being waived for AOS from K visas has happened to a few people very recently. No way to know if these are one-offs or a trend, or how common it is.

Actually a couple of recent reports that it may in fact be happening 

Update: green card arrived today 🇺🇸

The notice we got in the mail said approval and the card should be here within 90 days.
 
Then online it said by April 21st we would receive it and then late yesterday it said card was mailed.

You're just starting the process and the first step after submitting would be to get your biometrics done. This is a must before anything else can happen so as of right now it's probably not going to happen that you can get anything waived and receive the greencard soon. 

Green Card is now on hand, or should I say in my wife's itchy hand!!!!!!! It's been real folks, proof that patience is a virtue!!! I am still here with you all.

Still no movement... Sigh.. We are keeping our faith up Nonetheless.

197 days later and my EAD card is being produced! Finally some good news amid COVID-19 times! 

Me.. status is still RFE Response received. I sent my RFE response November 2019, no update yet. 😅

Same thing happened to me, I got the best surprise ever in the mail yesterday! I thought it was just the interview cancellation notice but it was the approval! I had to read it 10 times to make sure it was true 😂 congratulations!!

I had been waiting for 20 days to get a text from USCIS. 

Finally got my NOA1 Notices in the mail. Ead, Ap and AOS all accepted.
 
i had troubles receiving them and finally figured out why even if the address was correct.
 
Mailbox only had my husband’s name registered on it, so my notices were returned to USCIS because it was addressed to my name.
 
 
Tried being on the phone and e-mailing the representatives a few times.. none were that much of help.
 
fixed the problem by Changing my Address with my Husband’s name as the C/O, then filed a Case inquiry with Non received notice. 😅 Hopefully you guys won’t run into the same problem i did!

uhhh I am soo sorry to hear it!! It must be super frustrated to have expedite request denied! I saw some posts in the VJ saying you can wait again one week later. Not sure whether that's true. Also, if it helps, I expedited my EAD with just my job offer and the cover letter (along with the receipt email). My cover letter described how good the career opportunity is it and rare to find if I miss it this time. So I was more focusing on the career advancement opportunity the job provides rather than the financial burden. 

Self employment has to proven. With state licensing (DPR) ,fictitious name registration, (if fictitious name is used) LLC registration with the state. Workers Comp Insurance (or workers comp exempt certificate) These are the things you need, to be self employed. 

Citizens or green card holders don't need authorization.  You just need to find an available flight.  But you should get enrolled in the STEP program if you aren't already in case there are no flights available from your area, and need to locate a reparation flight.  They provide info to those living overseas, and will send information of any schedules flights to bring Americans home.  If you have any issues, you can always contact the us embassy with questions you have.
