Jinky&Bob reacted to Hank_ in Did you report the birth of your US born child to the Philippine Government?
really? Older than who? Older than her or older than you?

Jinky&Bob reacted to Duggu in N-400 interview date
Congrats , You can look for interview notice under the document tab in your USCIS Account for the interview letter which will tell you date time and location.
BTW when did you apply for N400 ?

Jinky&Bob reacted to Loren Y in Naturalization from CR1 with minor child
You might be OK. My wife's Naturalization only took 4 months total from filing to oath ceremony, so if you have a fast field office you should be well within the time frame. File now, and hopefully take the oath mid July.

Jinky&Bob reacted to cardia in N-400 January 2024 filers
Happy New Year, all! I am very delayed in applying for citizenship, considering that I became eligible a little over a year ago, but I finally got it done yesterday and am relieved to get it out of the way. We included as evidence:
Joint bank account statements from the beginning of our marriage until present (~6 years) Birth certificate of our child Documentation showing beneficiaries for our life insurance, retirement and brokerage accounts; shared health insurance plan with our child; and renter's insurance for our current home Leases for all our residences in the time we've been married IRS return transcripts from the past three years Plus the necessary required documents: photo of front and back of green card, IRS return transcripts, proof of spouse's US citizenship Got the NOA and the biometrics reuse notice very soon after filing, so we're now just sitting back and waiting for paper copies to arrive in the mailbox. Processing time for our location (San Diego, CA) is estimated 7 months for 5-year rule applicants (I am not; I am applying under the 3-year rule) at time of filing.

Jinky&Bob reacted to mam521 in N-400 - how much time between interview letter and actual interview?
TLDR: Houston citizenship processing is fast and passports are currently back to regular, reasonable processing times.
Houston filer here. I applied about this time last year, online. I had my first NOA within a day. I was notified of biometrics within the week. I applied under the 3 year minus 90 day rule, so I had to actually accrue my 3 years (April 1). My interview was scheduled for April 10 and my oath ceremony on April 27.
I had imminent international travel for work, so I did waste 2 days of my life, sitting in the passport office. Do not recommend unless absolutely necessary. It was LONG and BORING sitting there.
We just applied for new, expedited passports for my kids (Dec. 19) and I already have one passport in hand and Informed Delivery is showing a second package from the Tucson passport office scheduled for this week, so I'm assuming it's the second passport. I have no idea when we'll get our documents and the kids' passport cards sent to us.
When DH did his citizenship in 2017, it took 19 months. We were fully expecting it to take a lot longer than 4 months.

Jinky&Bob reacted to Thunderbolt in N-400 - how much time between interview letter and actual interview?
Plan for your interview to be in February not June. My wife's N400 took 4 months from the time we applied to certificate in hand.
The passport with the expedited fee took 2 weeks.
If I were you, I wouldn't plan any trips outside of US for now. Vacations can wait. Finish your process and then enjoy the fruits

Jinky&Bob reacted to Carpe Vinum in N-400 January 2024 filers
Didn't see a thread so started one. The boss submitted her N-400 today. She is ambivalent about citizenship but we got tired for the the I-751 to be processed (Sep 2021). The US passport will make it easier to travel to some places we want to visit anyway. Good luck to all.

Jinky&Bob reacted to Meg101 in N-400 October 2023 Filers
Filing N400 today under the 3 year marriage eligibility. I filed ROC I751 in November 2022 and besides biometrics being reused I haven’t heard any updates. Here’s hoping that this nudges me in the system. Wishing everyone a smooth processing experience. 😊🤞🏽
I am using https://civicsquestions.com/all/?q=100 << this website to study for civics. I was surprised at just how little I know and the only ones I got right were geographical ones or ‘obvious’ ones (current president etc) so lots for me to learn! 😬

Jinky&Bob reacted to JeanneAdil in Passed N400 Interview BUT...
SS card may not show restrictions but if do not change the status in the SS computers to citizen instead of LPR, there are jobs closed to u
the card will not change but SS computers will be updated
When you Become a U.S. Citizen Apply for a U.S. Passport/Passport Card. You will get an application for a U.S. passport at your naturalization ceremony in the U.S. Citizenship Welcome Packet. ... Register to Vote. ... Update your Social Security Record. -
Jinky&Bob reacted to JeanneAdil in Passed N400 Interview BUT...
after u take the oath update your social security info with nearest SS office as i makes u eligible for other benefits like some jobs that require US citizenship

Jinky&Bob reacted to Verrou in PASSPORT RENEWAL
If she has other legal document eg greencard etc, she doesn’t need to renew her passport right now
-
Jinky&Bob reacted to Chancy in PASSPORT RENEWAL
If your wife intends to re-acquire her Filipino citizenship after becoming a USC, better to put off your stepdaughter's passport renewal until then. Your wife will need a new PH passport anyway (if she wants one), as her current passport will be legally voided upon taking the US oath.

Jinky&Bob reacted to Daphne . in Getting married in Philippines she stays but I come home
Me and my husband also didn't live together, we submitted evidence of having spent time together (pictures, boarding passes, etc.). USCIS understands that couples who live in different countries don't have joint leases or co-mingled finances.

Jinky&Bob reacted to Crazy Cat in I-751 question
Not at all. In fact, it "jump started" my wife's process. After waiting 40 months for USCIS to approve my wife's I-751, we filed her N-400 in August of 2022. In December 2022, USCIS approved both the I-751 and N-400 in a combo interview. 6 weeks after the interview, she became a US citizen.

Jinky&Bob reacted to Rocio0010 in USCIS proposed price increase (Merged)
And the whole purpose of it is just stupid. They say it's to prevent marriage fraud. But if they're really worried about marriage fraud, then don't take that long to dig into a case.

Jinky&Bob reacted to beloved_dingo in USCIS proposed price increase (Merged)
If this increase goes through ROC will be more of a racket than it already is. Most USCIS filings are optional. I mean you don't HAVE to work or study in the U.S. You don't HAVE to live in the U.S. just because you marry a U.S. spouse (in most cases). You don't HAVE to file for citizenship. But conditional LPRs HAVE to file ROC. And yet they make it an annoying, lengthy and expensive process. 😤

Jinky&Bob reacted to Tereza in USCIS proposed price increase (Merged)
They tend to forget that not every USC lives on the coasts in a big city. We are in rural Iowa (I mean, my husband is and hopefully I'll be there in about 2 weeks lol), and the wages aren't that much better than here in Czech Rep. We think a dozen times before we spend a dollar and when I think how much this has cost us already and how much it will continue to cost us... makes me sick. It could have been many a nice vacation that we never had, to say the least
-
Jinky&Bob reacted to Rocio0010 in USCIS proposed price increase (Merged)
Exactly. My husband is from West Virginia, and we moved to Columbus for job opportunities. Thank God we both have good, stable jobs, but just like you, we count every single penny before we spend.

Jinky&Bob reacted to Joe Kano in Texas RoadHouse - Did it open in Robinson Mall Near US Embassy
My last trip to Manila area I was at the Robinson Mall near US Embassy. I saw a sign on the 2nd level that said Texas Roadhouse coming.
Did it ever get built? There is a TGIF on the first floor and it's pretty good place to get some American food.
I get real tired of all the pork and chicken, I need some Texas beef to give me energy in the Philippines.....

Jinky&Bob reacted to Hank_ in Ordering PSA Consular ROM and ROB
You're the one that jumped in here to post :
"We sent ours in 2016. The form I downloaded from their website was different back then. The report of marriage and report of birth was on the same form and the applicant crosses out what is not applicable. "
I simply replied to ask to see a copy of this combo ROM & ROB form you used. You produced an Affidavit for late registration document ... which is not a ROM or ROB form .. .or even a combo form. My point was and still is, ROM & ROB are separate forms and you are confused as you keep referring to the Affidavit. I will leave this at you are very confused.

Jinky&Bob reacted to Hank_ in Ordering PSA Consular ROM and ROB
Be interested in seeing that form. There were individual forms in 2011 and onward that I ever saw. New forms are slightly different but still ROM and ROB are too different to be a combo form

Jinky&Bob reacted to AKteacher in How long can US citizen baby stay in the Philippines?
You should complete the ROB abroad and apply for the Philippines passport before you leave if possible. It's much easier here than in Manila, where lines at the BI and DFA can be very long...

Jinky&Bob reacted to JeanneAdil in From vaccines to testing: What travelers need to know before the new US travel system launches on Nov. 8
sorry but all i got when vaccinated was an index card with information / plain old paper index card
with today's computers and printers it would be easy to do a fake one
there was a 16 year old that lost his job at McDonald's and copied the logo from a food bag and made out fake paychecks for himself to the tune of over $5000 before he was caught
we can do anything on a computer
so, how do i really know the people around me are really vaccinated ? i will keep wearing a mask
