Texas RoadHouse - Did it open in Robinson Mall Near US Embassy

My last trip to Manila area I was at the Robinson Mall near US Embassy.  I saw a sign on the 2nd level that said Texas Roadhouse coming.

Did it ever get built?  There is a TGIF on the first floor and it's pretty good place to get some American food.

I get real tired of all the pork and chicken, I need some Texas beef to give me energy in the Philippines.....

Yellow Cab is great pizza.  Texas Roadhouse near MOA was a nice (yet pricy) experience.  I am a carnivore and buying meat at the market there is really underwhelming.  Getting a US corn fed midwest steak in Manila was well worth the cost.  Now that my wife and step kids have been here for almost 2 years I can say they understand.  My step daughter loves her rare to medium rare steak.  My wife in medium rare and my step son still cant handle any red at all.  They are so impressed with the meats here compared to the Philippines.  They love US liver (which I dont) but we are managing.  I've never had any good fresh beef there from the stores there.

I'd rather get Yellow Cab and save the burger for the US.

Pizza in the Philippines suxs in general, Yellow Cab is a poor excuse for Pizza so is Greenwich and Shakeys and all the other ones over there.

I did find a Papa Johns right across from the Embassy which will deliver for like 100 peso, if you get like a shroom and pepperoni pizza it actually very good, I suspect they use US meat for the Pepperonis .  If you start getting pork product then it starts tasting like a crappy Philippines Pizza, I suspect they use lower end cuts of meats.

I found Papa John's to be nothing more than ketchup (maybe even banana ketchup) and bad cheese on some type of breading.  Not the same as here at all.  Yellow Cab was the closest to US pizza I found there.  Not perfect but edible.  Maybe being from Chicago influences my tastes since we have the best pizza in the world here.

I think it depends what you order. I only ever get the Hawaii, and it tastes like they use fresh pineapple. I enjoyed Shakey's too.

Maybe it's that thing where when you are on vacation everything tastes amazing.

You are better off with grass fed beef. Corn is grain and just fattens up the cows faster and the quality of the beef suffers.  Take it from someone who lives in Texas and buys directly from the processor.

I’ve heard people talk about grass fed. I’ve never tried it yet. I will give it a shot.

when I was in Cebu last year, I went to a S&R pizza in the Ayala mall. It was like a true NYC pizza, better than most pizza's here in the USA. I was truly amazed, The worker there says the owners are from NYC and still get their supplies from NYC......

Gosh my wife loves getting the livers here at Food Lion or Piggly Wiggly.

Texas Roadhouse is okay (we used to go to the one in S'Maison near MOA). Y'all should go to Wolfgang's in BGC or at the Podium in Ortigas if you don't want to be disappointed with your steaks. Or cook your own -- Landers and Rustan's sell USDA beef.

Only Papa Johns I have found is right across the street from the US Embassy.  The pizza sauce tasted exactly like in the US, and the cheese was US cheese tasting

I have tried Pizza Hut in PHilippines and they use nasty philippines cheese, and not US cheese.

I will give yellow cab another shot, Maybe the time I had it was an off day.
