PASSPORT RENEWAL

Hello

I and the wife were married in the Philippines in July 2019.  Wife and step daughter got here (US) April 2021.  We have already applied for 10 year green cards and have 48 month

extension letters and will apply for citizenship in January (N 400) but the step daughters passport expires in April 2024.  Question is do I really need to go through the hassle of

renewing the passport or can we just wait for the US passports?  We have no plans of travel before getting the US passports.

If she has other legal document eg greencard etc, she doesn’t need to renew her passport right now

If your wife intends to re-acquire her Filipino citizenship after becoming a USC, better to put off your stepdaughter's passport renewal until then.  Your wife will need a new PH passport anyway (if she wants one), as her current passport will be legally voided upon taking the US oath.
