sounds fishy she came in on B2 with the intent to adjust status is what it sounds like which is illegal to do.

she can't come in on a B2 visa with the intent to adjust status, and no one here will tell you that is a legal way to get her into the USA.

How do I know, some people got lucky enough to have it expedited on the first try, some weren't as lucky. You'll never know.
You have a good case so I think it shouldn't be a problem for you. Ask your employer for the letter as well.

Your case sounds a bit complicated. Tourist to Asylum , then greencard???  Why and when did you apply for asylum? The IO might think you are just doing all you can to actually stay in the States.

You might need a good lawyer mate!  Regarding the I-485, you need to submit evidence of bonafide marriage. Also, i'd suggest that you write a letter that talks about your asylum case and provide documents that demonstrate you were qualified to claim asylum.

    Good luck lad!

aznhouston reacted to geowrian in RFIE on I485 after calling to expedite I765
Pretty normal....they have to validate certain I-485 criteria before they adjudicate dependent applications (like the I-765). The I-864 is a common cause of an RFIE in this case.

It sounds like your expedite request was processed but they cannot adjudicate the I-765 yet due to the RFIE. Respond to the RFIE and they can proceed.
I doubt January would be an issue if they receive the response soon.

    1. Medical: Form I485 Instruction says:

"You are NOT required to submit Form I-693 at the time you file your adjustment application, but may do so if you wish. Because of the time-limited validity of Form I-693, you may choose to submit your Form I-693 after you file your Form I-485. You may also submit Form I-693 in person at an interview in a USCIS field office, if an interview is required. By waiting to submit Form I-693, you may avoid having to repeat the immigration medical examination."

"Who Needs to Submit Form I-864?:
    1. All immediate relatives of U.S. citizens (spouses, unmarried children under 21 years of age, and parents of U.S. citizens 21 years of age and older);
    2. All family-based preference immigrants (unmarried sons and daughters of U.S. citizens, spouses and unmarried sons and daughters of lawful permanent residents, married sons and daughters of U.S. citizens, and brothers and sisters of U.S. citizens 21 years of age and older); and
    3. Employment-based preference immigrants in cases only when a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or U.S. national relative filed the immigrant visa petition or such relative has a significant ownership interest (five percent or more) in the entity that filed the petition"

Applying online won't get you much, they don't even read resume submitted online.

Applying for AOS does not change your existing status.
It can impact Change of Status (COS) to another non-immigrant status if one filed for that, since most non-immigrant statuses require non-immigrant intent and a pending AOS implies immigrant intent.

You’ll receive the whole package back with time stamps on each page and the papers stapled together in a weird order. Just replace the payment document and send everything back as-is with the green paper on top which will be included in the package.

It is a completely random order to an extent. I tried for months to try and figure it out. I believe they put case numbers on the wall and throw darts at them to decide the order. If your case number gets hit, you get processed.

I recommend signing up for a PO box or a mail box at UPS store and use it as mailing address. Doing this will save you a lot of headache later.
Once you move to another place, request a change in address. Once the mail comes to your new address, cancel the PO box.
Don't put too much trust in USCIS system.
