This is all getting too inflammatory so I might as well throw in my two cents before this closes for further replies.

 

OP, no one on this website is qualified to give you relationship advice because no one here fully knows of your circumstances, your wife's intentions, etc. And quite honestly, it doesn't matter because this here is an immigration forum and even though people feel compelled to offer free marriage counseling, what it comes down to is this: you are receiving immigration benefits because of this marriage, and as such you have TWO things to figure out. One is whether to stay married or not. Entirely up to you. No one's business.

 

BUT.

 

In terms of immigration, the only advice anyone here can give you is this: if your marriage is breaking down, you cannot omit this information from Immigration Officers. And if you do eventually get divorced, that's it. You have nothing to adjust from and should return to your home country and figure things out, since your main reason to immigrate (marriage) is now toast. Then, by all means, see where your new relationship goes. If it's real, do the legal immigration process again. Is it going to take a lot of time and money? Yes. Is it going to be inconvenient? Yes.

 

That's legal immigration for you, and there are no "shortcuts". So don't come up with any extravagant plans to game the system because they always catch up with you at some point.

Yep.  And USCIS/DOS has seen EVERYTHING with regards to attempted fraud.  This tactic would not be new to them.

@andrecfa I do not want to pile on you and repeat the possible fraud implications of your plan - I think others made that clear.  I would just like to encourage you to seek therapy (not only as a couple, but for yourself).   Thirty-year old usually have matured and have more than "a plan with a cutie who might have a crush on them". To get married (idealistically, a lifelong commitment) without figuring out how it would be feasible to live with Wife #1...  Have you thought about other solutions to stay with her?  Separate living arrangements/bedrooms/in-law suite? 

 

There is something off about thinking her friend is the solution, without seeing the deeper realities of marriage, and immigration.

Marriage fraud is the term used to describe when a foreign-born person marries a U.S. citizen or, less commonly, a lawful permanent resident, for the sole or primary purpose of getting a green card (U.S. lawful permanent residence). These marriages are not "bona fide." They are the opposite of ones entered into for love or family purposes.

Such frauds are taken very seriously by U.S. immigration authorities. If the fraud is discovered, the immigrant could face severe immigration consequences, and both halves of the marrying couple may face criminal penalties. Hundreds of marriage frauds are uncovered every year.
