Alerting the public and the government to be ready so we don’t become Italy in a few weeks is not a TDS in my opinion.

In just a few weeks the cases have gone up from few hundreds to over 40K and people are still thinking media is hyping the impact.

Numbers have doubled in 72 hours.

Yep and with the increasing testing capacity, it goes up in an alarming rate for sure, will beat China in number of cases for sure.

I just hope our government doesn’t make the same mistake Italy did.

Agreed.  I saw news footage of people in Spain laying on hospital floors.

I believe all federal buildings that were shut down will reopen,  but everyone will have to obey by the sanitary rules. You just can not completely shut down the world's largest economy for this pandemic. Trump is right, the cure must not be worse than the disease.

Ofcourse keeping banks open is more important than immigration so people can take out cash if they need to.

I agree.  I did not word that well at all.  I am not saying any immigration offices SHOULD be open.  I am just wondering what will happen next Monday if the Trump administration wants things open and the Democratic-run states do not?  In that case, who controls what Federal offices do?  Fed vs. State?  It's kind of an academic question, really.  And it's so interesting that it is flipped on its head.  Historically, Republicans would be more pro-States' rights and Democrats would be more Federal.  Next Monday could be the start of the opposite dynamic.

Governors in states that have declared emergency powers and are restricting non-essential workers have the absolute authority to determine who is essential and who is not.

An inappropriate post has been removed.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Our president is doing an excellent job handling the situation.

Yes those 15 cases went to zero in no time!!!!

Meanwhile today - back in the real world -  >10,000 new diagnoses were confirmed in the USA - in one day.

What an amazing job the psychopath is doing! Things are going so well, he thinks we should even start thinking about relaxing all those annoying social distancing regulations - on the day 10,000 people were diagnosed with COVID19.

Thankfully I am now free to VOTE against this catastrophic disaster of a president in November.

CITIZENSHIP TIMELINE

4/2019: Submitted N400

5/2019: Biometrics (3 weeks)

2/2020: Interview (10 months)

3/2020: Oath & naturalization (11 months)

6/2020: Passport received (3 months)

Officially a U.S. Citizen!

You have to put both sides here. How about governor and mayor. Main reson for this situation in NY is mass transportation and people not followin stay at home orders. Why subway is still running ? You have to contain the virus and treat people similtaneously. A subway worker covid positive was working cleaning the trains. So dont blame one side. If you dont like your president, its your choice but be fair and discuss both sides.
