Not to lull OP's friend into a false sense of security but I doubt the biometrics/background check done as part of AOS/ROC/N-400 process would bring this up especially as records from UAE are not available.

That said, this will always hang over her head.

I will never see the benefit of getting into a country on a lie, except maybe people who are desperately fleeing violence or a war torn country where their life is in danger. Then maybe the risk is worth it. It literally will hang above your head forever, even if citizenship miraculously succeeds. I would not want to live that way.

 

There's been enough posters on these forums who made it past K1 approval, only to have a criminal past (much less serious than this person's) come back to haunt them before it's all said and done. As it should.

It is kind of funny how everyone here acts like USCIS and the FBI are so efficient that it is just a matter of time before she gets found out. Honestly it is quite likely she will never get caught, but she will have to live the rest of her life worried about it. The only advice you will get here is to be completely honest anything else would be a violation of the TOS.

Not very uncommon a thought---there are even some USCs who believe once the foreigner marries they "automatically become a citizen".

 

She may be flipping out because she's worried her deceit may come to light now.

This is the most important thing we need to know about this person. This person is not going to turn herself in or do the right thing. The decision was already made. She is simply worried about getting caught. And it is true that she could have her status stripped and deported even if it is years from now.

 

Regardless, I am not going to waste time or energy being bothered by her or her actions. I just have no sympathy for her. Going back to enjoy my morning coffee.

At the same time, "three can keep a secret if 2 of them are dead" -> aka anybody that knows her past can hold it over her head or just report it one day. Who knows if they will take it seriously, but it'll always be hanging over their head anytime they piss off the wrong person.

Each interview with USCIS is an opportunity for body language or a slip of the tongue to give away that there is something amiss/omitted from the immigrant's paperwork.    Will the person get caught?  No idea.  But this isn't over yet.   Each application also leads to more background checks.  I am confused though - UAE does offer police clearance certificates.  https://government.ae/en/information-and-services/justice-safety-and-the-law/police-clearance-certificate

That is a scary thought. So what you are saying is that a member of Abu Sayyaf can somehow change passport is the Philippine and the Department of State in Manila's embassy cannot even detect the security flaw and let alone USCIS and FBI to catch it.
