Hello everyone, I'm wanting to Request for expedite service at USCIS for my petition. How would i be able to do this? I have researched and found that I would have certain things meet. I'm going to be attending my beneficiary's interview in Vietnam but I will be taking a leave of absence with out pay which will cause me to loose a good chunk of my income for that month. I am able to get a letter from my employer and proof that I will take a substantial loss of income when I do attend the interview. Also if my request is denied can it hurt our petition in any way?

Thanks

I agree with the above comments, this isn't mandatory to go with to the interview. Instead of leaving your job to be with for the interview you could arrange the time frame with your work in order to stay employed and make a shorter trip. Otherwise I feel like 90% of the members in here would take that route in order to increase the time frame to be together

Also to note. You can expedite USCIS but then also have to expedite NVC and embassy level. So even if USCIS approved it, the others may not. Then you are proving to the embassy you can support your fiance financially; but expediting on extreme financial loss. Kind of doesn't look good in some ways personally; but again can definately try. Doesn't hurt.

Go to the interview! Very important for VN K-1. Take all of your records and be prepared. Get there early (7 a.m.) and head for the consulate gate ASAP. Don't talk to anyone outside the consulate - a lot of scammers and criminals waiting for you. Be confident and smile while waiting and during the interview - don't look nervous. If you don't know Saigon, stay in District 1 (City Hotel near the Night Market is good and inexpensive). You can walk to the consulate in about 20 minutes. Go straight to the gate (to the right of the windows if facing the consulate) and show your interview invite. Don't drag a bunch of stuff there - just your records and info needed for the interview. Be confident. You'll do fine. Good luck! (And no chance on the expedite).

Alright thanks for the heads up. About how long does it take for you to get medical results and everything and how can i go about obtaining the police record? My fiancee lives in Cam Ranh but she was living in Ho Chi Minh for about 3 years to work but i told her to quit her work because her supervisors were very rude and miss treated her. Will she need to obtain a police record from Ho Chi Minh also?

If we could expedite the K1 visa process by planning to attend the interview of our beneficiary, every single U.S. citizen petitioner would go to the interview in said foreign country.

By all meas you can give it a shot, if it works, please let us know so we can also try it. :)

Based on your reason for an expedite, the probability of expedite denial is more than 99.99999999999999%.  In simplistic terms, you have a better chance of winning a mega-million lottery.  But there is always that small chance of success and a denial will not hurt your petition.  In my opinion, this is a frivolous expedite request.  Also, if loosing a good chunk of one months income is truly a substantial loss of income to you, perhaps you should reconsider this process as this is just the start of your expenses.  Anyway, good luck.

Agreed. The OP is entitled to request an expedite. At the same time, it's frivolous expedite requests that slow down the expedite process for people who do need it (medical emergencies, civil unrest, war, etc.).

Like others told you already. Do not even waste your time and their time with this kind of claims. Taking a trip to see your other half at the interview is not reason to expedite nothing.

We all lose money and time during this process. You claiming financial loss when then you will have to prove that you can enough to support you both will look stupid. And if you want to go with her to the embassy then use your savings. I'ts not mandatory to be present there. When I did my K1 years ago my now husband was not able to be present there and all went fine.
