This wait is just too rough... ☹️ I have scheduled an infopass appointment for the 29th of this month. By then it will be 52 days of them having received my RFE. Can’t help but feel depleated 😪

So happy to read this! I think it's safe to say we've all been thinking about you this week with your POE.

 

Man, I keep telling Paul I can't wait for us to be together and not have a departure date/flight looming over our heads. I bet that feels so amazing! I'm so happy for you! Welcome home!!!

I'll let you know.  I just filled out my SSN forms, but my I-94 is online and printed out, so there should be no issue with getting it done today, and I'm gonna give Bank of America a try.

To be fair, the visa clinic have been really vague. With how much I have paid, I should not be the piggy in the middle doing all the running around here. 

 

I just wanna go to my interview, VOH, POE, EGG and BACON in my new apartment... Y'know... Go be happy and all that. 😭

OMG!! I am on pins and needles, yesterday I wrote an email on 14th and like hey I know my medical was sent from Norway on March 1st and we sent all the additional info we needed by email March 9th... they don't need like 14 days on mail from Norway to Sweden, that takes about 4 days MAX! Got informed that the medical had just arrived... right... and that an officer is looking into our case. Needless to say, I kept on checking CEAC page throughout the day and well nothing still Administrative Processing.

 

Sits down with my cup of coffee and a yogurt and log into CEAC to check and behold the last case update has changed to 15th!!! IS THIS THE DAY ?!    *bites nails and sits on the edge of her chair* This day is going to be loooong.

Here is the big question.  How is the English accent getting along with the southern drawl of Georgia?  Any communication issues?  Maybe Atlanta won't be too bad but I always have trouble when I head south to areas like Jackson, Mississippi.  It feels like another language!

We are awaiting the SS# to come in the mail now, but here are some things I have done without it:

 

1) I have ordered her an American Express Card, it is in the mail now. I could have done this before she arrived, wish I did. 

 

2) I also called Bank of America, they took some info over the phone and those forms are in the mail and promised the latest tomorrow. I did confirm I could just go in without the forms if they did not arrive, we will go in on Saturday if I can't get off of work early tomorrow. 

 

3) Went to get driving information. Was told by one motor vehicle office they do not cover non-citizens, was told by second office she can drive, was told on the phone she cannot, sent email awaiting a response, and going to a 3rd office today. 

 

4) Added her to my driving insurance, they needed her Driving license number from Cambodia. Now she is listed on the policy and this is a potential proof of address. 

 

5) Got papers to add her to my apartment lease, proof of address may be handy later on.

I always found it hard dealing with people that do not speak proper American English. It is well known we have taken the language and improved it over the years, resulting in it being the superior version. Perhaps not the original, but without a doubt the best.

My sweet fiance makes fun of my and my southern draw. I'm originally from south Alabama, so you can only imagine how thick my accent is. When he met my dad, he literally laughed in his face because of his accent. It is much thicker than mine . Gotta love that southern draw!

How about Cambodian to New Jersey!  Sometimes those east coasters have their own language too.  Just try to Pacque the Kah.
