I'm a December filer.

But I've already been waiting much longer than any of you.

17 years.

Its honestly the way you word it, since the very beginning. As if is a 'right' for you to get to the US, and as all you've been throughout most of your life has been a long 'wait' to do so. This kind of wordings would give an IO a clear idea of what you could be after on this K1 visa. Good luck on your journey of reuniting with your to-be husband, however.

What is IO and what do you mean by "what you could be after..."?

He means that the person working on your case will maybe see your 17 year struggle as a desperate attempt to come to the states and assume your relationship is not real and just a means to come to the states.

On this note. I want to apologise to you @Ariane1. The way you worded things makes me question your intentions but it is not my place to judge. Like I said we are here to support each other and that means I should support you in your journey too. I'm afraid I was having a grumpy day and I have seen so many trolls here it got me a bit jaded. Again. I apologise.

I hope you are in it for the genuine reasons and I hope your case won't be delayed by just the mere look of things. Just be prepared to have a lot of supporting evidence of your relationship. The way you worded things here on this forum raised a lot of concern with me and I feel USCIS might thing the same way.

Thank you so much, Little_Vixen.

That's my other problem: I often word things wrong and have so many problems in my life because of that. I have Asperger's and it's even harder for me to understand and word stuff especially online (in terms of how to politely/correctly word stuff, see sarcasm and jokes etc).

So I'm always thankful if someone points that out. Because I don't see what I word that way and keep learning to communicate.

That's why my fiance will be with me throughout the process and at the interview as well. We've tons of evidence and serious intentions.

I'm indeed worried about the entire 17-year process and that they might find suspicious he is 17 years older than me (funny and weird coincidence)... It's like life put on a pause.

Even though I can't see where and how my wording was wrong, writing itself and the feedback helped.

I also realized that we can choose to be free from waiting. Great strength of mind and spirit is needed to stop waiting and just let things happen.

I wish everyone as well as myself to have it.

This week in numbers;

This week August came as far as Received date 29th of August.

However, 2 days of this week was RFE only dates, so there were no Approval updates.

As we confirmed before too, these dates (and even dates where we saw updates online) usually means most approvals were/going to be mail only.

August is going stronger than any other month so far, giving me some hope that things will only get better (even if it is not by too much or too fast) from here on.

However always keep in mind, things can change so fast, and anything can happen during this process.

NVC backlog was a mystery for us and it happened suddenly, yet ended up eating 2 months of those approvals.

And things such as AP or anything on the way can also cause a backlog.

My advice is not make firm/unchangeable wedding plans.

On another note,  I saw about 10 withdrawals in the month of September during the past week.

The same movement happened one week before August started.

My guess is they are first updating those that will not get adjudication due to being withdrawn...

So September next week??

I personally can't wait!

Hi guys, did you start preparing for next phase?

I’ve sent an email to the doctor on my embassy’s list asking what was needed for the exam. They sent me a list of vaccines that I needed to prove I’ve taken. Unfortunately I lost a couple of recipes over the years, so even though I have taken the shots, I had to do it all over again. Oh well... arm is in pain now but my list of vaccines is complete.

Next step for me is not related to the visa but to life ‘after visa’ hehe, get the diploma translated.

Hi! I'm starting to prepare for the medical/interview phase! I recently did some pretty deep research in to the vaccines section. The medical offices in Colombia won't give us any idea as to what we need. I think I have it figured out.... but would you mind sharing what they required you to get? Thanks so much!

I'm literally finding out right now that September has started!!! So I guess I have to start gathering things... I'm worried about the vaccines too, I know I have some but not the papers to prove it since I lost some of them, hopefully I have to take a few -_-
