N-400 Interview Having Children 3 Year Rule

Hoping that if we do get called for an interview, we don’t get that type of officer. We don’t have children, and we’re not planning to. Children are just ONE type of evidence… a reputable officer should look at the totality of circumstances. After all, the act of having a child all it proves is that two people had unprotected sex with one another at a certain point in time. 
Bank accounts, taxes, retirement accounts also speak of a bona fide relationship. This was just a very conservative, possibly ultra orthodox officer

And where is the statistical evidence for this statement? Ontarkie said in their reply that their IO didn't care about their kid's birth certificate and specifically asked for co-mingling evidence. Not every IO is going to see children as "the evidence that trumps others".

USCIS, in addition to other evidence, considers children an indicatitor of stronger marriage. However, USCIS PM has no such language. I think it depends upon how a particular officer weighs child-birth and concept of marriage (or creation of family) in their personal views and that gets translated into how they perceive a marriage.

Certainly is important in many cultures and/or religions to follow the marriage with children

even Pslam 127:3 to us Christains talks of children

and look at the number of divorced couples with children

 

 petitions do not ask "are u pregnant?"   "Do u intend to have children?"

 

and what of same sex couples ?

Yes, they don't. But this IO made a custom note in my application indicating I am expecting. This was also very odd.

I have children from my first marriage and when I met my now husband, I could no longer have children(I had cancer and needed to have a full hysterectomy). So my husband would have been denied by this IO? Sounds like it. I have been on this site for a decade and I have NEVER heard of an IO asking for "proof of pregnancy", let alone anyone bringing said proof to an interview. Sounds odd...

In this case, it WAS objectively rude for the IO to say that couples are expected to have children after a certain amount of time. He had no idea if OP is/was capable of having children or if they even wanted to. It's a personal decision to have kids or not and a couple isn't legally less deserving of approval if they don't have kids. If they have kids, great, show their birth certs to the IO. But for an IO to show their prejudice like that is highly unprofessional.

Expecting married couple to have children is unprofessional and discriminatory as hell. 

If a couple have kids sure present that as evidence but if they don't then they should be penalized.
