Hello all....like so many, I am stuck at the NVC and waiting.   My fiancee lives in Mexico, so we will be waiting for Juarez.  I am starting to feel hopeless in all of this.  I have this awful feeling that since it is Juarez, I will be waiting still this time next year.  I know some people got appointments in about 2 months pre-CoVid, but others keep telling me that Juarez is the worst and it takes a year to a year and a half to even get an appointment.  This makes me literally cry.  It makes me want to simply sell everything, including the brand new home that I just purchased for my new wife and I, and try to find a job in Mexico.   I hate that I am feeling like giving up on my country, but my country is failing me at every turn.  There is no information from the NVC, nothing from the Consulate, the only info I can get from my Congressman is false info from the Dept. of State.....I feel like I am at the end of the rope and nothing is working out.  I need some good news, something that I can do to move forward, I need hope.

You are married?

The good news is that Mexico isn't the only one still closed. Dozens of other countries and thousands of other applicants are in the same boat as you. They are waiting for their country to open up so the embassy will also open to normal visa applicants. I'm in the Philippines. We've had some sort of quarantine lockdown since March. 5 months of businesses closing, restricted travel, and the embassy is only processing expedited visa cases.

Mexico will open again.

Mexico issued 200 K-1 visas in Jan. It dropped to 2 in June. If you can wait it out, it will work out. Canada just opened up last week. I would be cautious referring to your fiancée as a wife. The US government doesn't like the appearance of you calling her your wife if you're on the fiancée visa.

Is it an option for you to visit her in the meantime?

I am blessed in that regard....I manage to fly down every 3-4 weeks and spend a few days at "home" with her.  Sometimes I need to remind myself how fortunate I am to be able to see her.

That's very good. That kind of positive thinking will get you through this long, hard process.

My fiancé and I live together, but we are preparing ourselves for a long separation once he leaves in Nov 2020. He will not be able to visit me for a long time, and I will not be able to visit him, until my home country's border restrictions are lifted.

You're very lucky that you can go visit her every 3-4 weeks.
