Haven't multiple members here within the last couple of weeks posted their emails from embassies stating they won't process their K1 due to the EO?

There is multiple Eos right now including the one from yesterday, travel etc. As for the EO that was expanded and renewed yesterday, no K1's should not be affected. My two cents is the other EO's for travel bans etc that have been put on specific countries is what they are referencing and/or using  because why process a K1 visa if the can't actually travel to the USA to use it if they aren't allowed into the country? I'm sure the staff at these embassies are just as confused lol. Again just my thoughts not fact.

It's a really confusing time for everyone involved as it seems there is something new every week related to immigration and hard to keep track of or make sense 🤦‍♀️

just have to wait and see while keeping positive.

What consulate is fully open and not processing K1s?  Consulates providing emergency services are not fully staffed with American personnel. Chances are pretty high that email requests are being answered by local employees and not career foreign service officers.  It is easy to for them to confuse the multiple EOs if a post is also subject to the travel ban.

I would have to search for the consulate, but it was a consulate that has begun the opening process and rescheduling IR1/CR1 appointments.  A person with a K1 posted a screen shot of their email from the embassy saying they're not rescheduling K1 because of the EO.  Fully open - no, but rescheduling cancelled appointments, yes.

There is Jamaica - It is not fully open but has started interviews for CR and IR visas as they are considered critical.   Family reunifications are a top priority.   A K1 is a non immigrant visa and not considered critical.  Jamaica is also not under the travel EO.

Well stated........it seems logical to me that we will see a gradual progression from family reunification visas to non-immigrant visa processing in non travel restricted countries.

K-1 is a non immigrant visa.... The language only excludes spouses and children under 21.

Thus K-1 isn't subject to April 22 PP because that PP banned certain Immigrant Visas. K-1 isn't subject to June 22 PP because that PP banned H-1B, H-2B, J category, and L category. Read Section 2: https://www.whitehouse.gov/presidential-actions/proclamation-suspending-entry-aliens-present-risk-u-s-labor-market-following-coronavirus-outbreak/

I saw this in the Washington Post

I don't know what the actual situation is, but that makes it sound like it would be affected.

Trump on April 22 ordered a 60-day freeze on several categories of family and employment-based immigration visas, and that suspension has now been extended through the end of 2020.

K-1 isn't subject to April 22 PP!

Since the EO is aimed at “Suspending Entry of Aliens Who Present a Risk to the U.S. Labor Market Following the Coronavirus Outbreak” (direct quote from the EO), why do you think K-1s would be affected? How do people who cannot work “present a risk to the US labor market”?

I don't know if I can expect logic from the EO. I have no idea if K1s are affected.

Agree.. It should be deleted or the title corrected.

Why do people only read the headlines?  What’s wrong with maybe reading the actual order. A lot of people are misled by only reading headlines.

K1 Visas are a non-immigrant visa according to DOS, and as such are not affected by the EO. I spoke to an immigration attorney confirming this. No need to worry.

Thank God!!! We applied in late March and so I'm wondering how many months this whole thing will take.  Originally (pre-COVID) it was estimated to be 6-9 months.  My fiance is coming from Ukraine if approved.

We started On beginning of November. NVC sent over at end of March. Embassy emailed and all interviews for CR1 they had scheduled were cancelled due to covid cases going up in Ukraine. embassy said they were going to try again July 31st. We are still waiting for the email so we can schedule the interview.

Please keep me informed! I hope COVID doesn’t delay beyond that for you or I.  I can’t even see her due to the lockdown being extended in Ukraine.  She can’t leave the country until it’s lifted, so we can’t even meet anywhere.  So disappointing.
