Totally agree, waiting a month to hear something from an Expidite request is madness, we can but try, highly unlikely NVC are willing to accept they made an error extending the process by almost 3 months (when you take into consideration the wait time for supervisor review and the 8 week resubmission), but it’s a legitimate reason for Expidite which no doubt they’ll ignore.

Im passed caring at this stage, I was made redundant at work last Friday, no one will hire me if I mention I’m trying to emigrate to the states and could be approved within a couple of months. If I don’t mention it and get a job, I could get approved, have my interview and then have to quit pissing them off and making me look bad. I don’t want to go on any government benifits due to public charge implications, particularly since I’ve never been on benifits of any kind in my 25 yrs of working.. so I’m now wasting my redundancy pay on living for who knows how long.. I’m so sick of the uncertainty and the whole immigration process.. hubby and I have said F it.. I fly there on Tuesday, will basically wait out the remainder of the process while on vacation with him and fly home for the final interview and pray it’s not in AP for an extended period of time while I live in a motel awaiting the return of my passport/visa.

I am so sorry you are going through this. I am cheering for you all the way across the globe. It will get approved - hoping it's fast!

NVC EXPEDITE JUST APPROVED! I called this morning, felt really disheartened after the phone operator said "no updates on your case" and was very eager to hang up.

Feb 4: expedite requested

Feb 11: emailed Australian embassy asking for expedite update

Feb 12: email back from NVC acknowledging expedite

Feb 17: email from AusItalian embassy saying my expedite is under review

March 3 morning: called NVC to check on status

March 3 afternoon: EXPEDITE APPROVED!!!

Does it normally take a month to get an expedite approved? I think it was more like a week or so. I just requested an expedite today.

Thank you! I’m confused, I thought we need to send the AOS first then they will request civil documents

You have to fill the DS260 first, then the list of civil documents needed will be on your account. You can still submit AOS before civil documents but they won't be reviewed until all civil documents has been submitted. So it's best to submit both at the same time.

What is the DS260? And how long it will take?

Myself and @Duke & Marie both requested expedite around the same time and it's taken us both a month. I know someone who put in expedite at the Japan embassy before me and got approved in a week or 2, but he called every few days asking for a supervisor to review and give him an update. Maybe it's dependent on the embassy too.

Once your payment is through. You will see where it says start now on the dashboard. How long it takes will depend on you and internet connection. Try to save every page you fill so that when you have to log in again, you continue from where you stop.

It is the application for immigrant visa, about the beneficiary. This must be completed and signed and submitted before you can upload any documents.

Does the online USCIS case status check show when NVC receives the case? Mine still shows it was forwarded to NVC on 14 Feb and no updates since then.

I know it can take a few weeks just wanted to know exactly how we'll find out. And if the status check does not update do we get an email from NVC about the welcome pack? Or do they just send the physical package?

You won’t get any notice when the case is received. Only when the NVC case is created. Once NVC creates your case you will get an email with your case and invoice number and further instructions for NVC processing
