Event Description

Embassy Review : I arrived the U.S embassy, Lagos Nigeria at 9:10AM, my interview was for 11A.M. At about 10AM, they started calling people in but they could only do 1 or 2 at a time because of Social distancing. I got called at about 10:40AM or so, I waited my turn to submit my civil documents and DS-260 confirmation page I recently filled. I did finger print and waited my turn to be called for Interview. I was interviewed by a beautiful Consular Officer in window 4. After she took my file, it took about 10mins before she called me, it felt like forever because I was seeing her go through it. Then she called my name.

CO: Good morning, Can I see your face? You can put the mask back on.
I took the oath and she said your application is pretty straight forward, i will ask you a few questions.
Tell me how you met?
Where did he take you to?
When did you get pregnant? Oh so you got pregnant before the wedding, okay.
Did any of his family come for the wedding?
Do you have your daughter's birth certificate?
What does your husband do here in Nigeria?
Do you know when he will go back to the U.S?(I told her he was already in the U.S)
What makes you decide that it's time to move to the U.S?
What is he doing in the U.S now?
Has he made arrangements for apartment, car?(showed her car insurance and title he recently did and she said perfect)
Do you have proof of change of name(I gave her my affidavit and newspaper publication. Then she said i can see you came prepared.
Do you have an old passport?
Where have you travelled to outside Nigeria?
What states have you been to in Nigeria?
Do you have school records, ID card?
Do you have your sponsor tax transcript and W2's(I gave her the 2019 tax return, 1099 and W2 and explained that he filed taxes in July so it's not available on the IRS, she asked if I know if it will be there soon, I said not anytime soon) Then she checks and said I have all the documents I need.
CO: I will give you some of your original documents back and I will keep your passport.
She gave me the rights pamphlet and said
Due to presidential proclamation, I will have to refuse your visa but I will consider you for a waiver with the documents you just presented, it takes a week or two to be done. You will be contacted once your passport is ready for pick up.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
