K1 Refused - I'm in total shock! please help

Agree! That is really weird. I was a  software engineer too working for an old US based Company (which has a facility in Philippines) before my K-1 application. Although they asked  me a lot of stuff about my work but they didnt ask me for a resume. 

In the RUB forum I've read of other cases where resumes were asked for. It might be country-specific. It's more common than you think.

You seem very knowledgeable about this so why did you forget to bring a resume to the interview? Not sure if it was mentioned already or not but did they keep your passport?

Your petitioner should contact the senator to inquire where exactly your case is in a about a month.

Once a refusal is given it still takes administrative processing to return it to USCIS via NVC, NVC will not know that the embassy

has or is processing the return until they receive it and enter the data into the system so whoever you call at NVC can't actually see it

until entered in the system.
This takes some time, for some embassies it can take weeks or months to return it.

 

Hoping that it may have been a fluke and someone made an update mistake.
You can get clarification by involving the senator/congressman.

My wife, Chinese beneficiary, was asked for her resume. But this was asked for in a letter prior to her interview. At the interview, they never asked her about her work - neurologist.

Let me throw this out there since we have no specifics on your interview

Could it be that something you said in the interview does not correspond to some information on your resume?

I may be off-base... but you said you have a visitor's visa... perhaps they were looking for/at any trips that overlapped with you work for US companies (you stated you've done work for some).  Reasoning being, a tourist can not work  in the US (on US soil) on a tourist visa ....

My resume matches to what I told him during the interview.

YES! it happened! Using my tourist visa, I visited my fiancee 3 times, one of the times it overlapped with a trip from work (10 days trip), it wasn't for business, just an annual celebration of all employees around the world participating.

(My intention was to show him that we're visiting each other frequently)

My company is a re-seller of a big American company, and that I took advantage of 1 business trip to visit my fiancee, the other 2 trips were just to see her).

It would be a giant leap to assume an annual company celebration is in fact was working in the US with a tourist visa.

I got finally approved after 8 months in Refused/AP

(It changed from Refused to AP and then to ISSUED)

 

Just be patient, even though it's hard.

Congratulations and the update is appreciated.
Some people assume that once it shows REFUSED that petition has also been returned. Not always so !
When they put a case in AP due to background checks then it can also show REFUSED because it was refused due to them not finishing 
whatever they wanted to review at the embassy or waiting for external data. 
That's why it is vital to make sure to understand where the case is (embassy or returned to USCIS) before many jump to conclusions, marry
and file a CR1 thinking their case was returned and added an extra year of waiting.
One can inquire with the embassy or through a senator as where the case is.
