  1. Hello I was having B1/B2 interview in Islamabad at 5th March 2020. Till yesterday status was Refused but now i checked it says ISSUED (25 March) and mentioned: Your visa is in final processing. If you have not received it in more than 10 working days, please see the webpage for contact information of the embassy or consulate where you submitted your application. For more information, please visit U.S. Embassy Islamabad. What does it mean? Issues mean passport is issued or visa is issued? What you think due to Corona they are rejecting it? as i heard AP take alot of time? Anyone face same issue please share experience. & if ISSUED mean Visa issued then how rejection is shown. Because i didnt see anyone posted that my status was REFUSED and then i got call to pickup. Please explain both cases. ill be grateful Thanks
  2. I don’t know where it’s written or if it’s even written, but pertaining to a WoM (Writ of Mandamus), what do you all think a federal judge considers to be an UNREASONABLE length of administrative processing when considering the WoM?
  3. Hi! Is anyone in Kabul Afghanistan under AP? Has anyone gotten a visa that was under AP recently?
  4. Hi...I need advice please! I have a hypothetical situation that is causing us lots of anxiety.... In the event that my husband who is a U.K. citizen (in AOS from a K1 visa), receives his AP in time, he would like to travel back to England to attend his brother’s wedding (set for April 11, 2020). He already booked a refundable airline ticket months ago. I (US citizen) was planning on attending as well. Now that Trump has implemented this travel ban, I understand that I definitely cannot go. But if he has his AP in hand, can he still go using his British passport? If he is still in AOS process (EAD/AP received, no Greencard) is he considered a permanent legal resident yet? Basically what I really want to know is, will he be stuck in the U.K. upon attempting to return to the U.S.? Has anyone out there attempted returning from the U.K. to the U.S. recently using an AP? Answers to any of these questions will help & be greatly appreciated...TIA!!
  5. Hello everyone. So i had my interview on the 8th of January. It went generally well, but the interviewer told me i would have to provide an additional document (attestation of birth). he told me that after i provided it, my visa would be issued and that it would take about 2 weeks. He gave me back my passport, a document request form and a nd told me i would have to resubmit both of them, along with the requested document, in order to get my visa. He also gave me the uscis immigrant fee form and the printout with information on domestic violence. I obtained the requested document in 48hrs, but when i tried to submit, i was told that they had not requested for my passport on the request form. They refused to accept my passport, as a result. When i tried to log in to ceac website some days later, i discovered i had been placed in administrative processing. It has now been three months. The recent change in language on the ceac website was confusing as i thought i had been refused. To be frank, i'm still not sure what the current situation is. Does anyone else have any insight or perhaps a similar experience?
  6. So I got this DS5535 after 2.5weeks in being on AP but now refused. I filled the answers and emailed them back because that was asked. Now my question is how do I know that they have recieved my email. Also i know the people who get these have to wait a year and so. But are there any one who got rid of this in a month or two??? Would love to know about thier cases. Visa category F4 Islamabad embassy.
  7. Hi, I'm wondering whats taking USCIS so long to process my application for AOS along with application for EAD and also AP. We sent our application on the 12th of February through USPS, to Chicago IL. We had it tracked and it arrived at the 16th of february at their address. and so far nothing came in yet in the mail or notice though email/text with G-1145 on top of my application. I know that USCIS implemented the Inadmissibility on Public Charge Grounds final rule nationwide, including in Illinois, on Feb. 24, 2020. but our application came in earlier than that, ill post the note on the USCIS Website. " the rule affects postmark application starting on the 24th and after that date" Thank you for your time. Mahalo's ALERT: On Feb. 21, 2020, the Supreme Court stayed the statewide injunction issued by the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois affecting Illinois filers. USCIS implemented the Inadmissibility on Public Charge Grounds final rule nationwide, including in Illinois, on Feb. 24, 2020. USCIS will apply the final rule to all applications for adjustment of status, and applications and petitions for extension of nonimmigrant stay or change of nonimmigrant status postmarked (or, if applicable, submitted electronically) on or after that date. For applications and petitions that are sent by commercial courier (for example, UPS, FedEx, or DHL), the postmark date is the date reflected on the courier receipt. USCIS will reject any affected application or petition that does not adhere to the final rule, including those submitted by or on behalf of aliens living in Illinois, if postmarked on or after Feb. 24, 2020. The final rule requires applicants for adjustment of status who are subject to the public charge ground of inadmissibility and certain applicants and petitioners seeking extension of stay and change of status to report certain information related to public benefits. Due to litigation-related delays in the final rule’s implementation, USCIS is applying this requirement as though it refers to Feb. 24, 2020, rather than Oct. 15, 2019. Please read all references to Oct. 15, 2019, as though they refer to Feb. 24, 2020. USCIS will not consider, and applicants for adjustment of status do not need to report, the application for, certification or approval to receive, or receipt of certain previously excluded non-cash public benefits (such as SNAP, most forms of Medicaid, and public housing) before Feb. 24, 2020. Similarly, USCIS will not consider as a heavily weighted negative factor receipt of previously included public benefits (such as SSI and TANF) before Feb. 24, 2020, in a public charge inadmissibility determination. Certain classes of aliens are exempt from the public charge ground of inadmissibility (such as refugees, asylees, certain VAWA self-petitioners, U petitioners, and T applicants) and therefore, are not subject to the final rule.
  8. According to my status and everyone in all of my groups on Facebook and many people here, it seems this morning CEAC switched those in administrative processing, specially those issued a 221g, to refused. Most have not had a change in date. It is very possible that this is just a systemwide glitch. No lawyer has any answers so we will wait and see what happens in the next days. Just hoping this is a new procedure. Who else saw this?
  9. Hey if you are in AP and got your visa let me know. I am in AP and was given 221g with no other requirements. I am disheartened so any positive story will be appreciated.
  10. So we had our interview two days before. Everything went well but then our joint sponsor was not related to us by blood. He was a family friend of my aunt. So the consular was not satisfied that why is he sponsoring you. So we were put in AP without any reason. Consular told us that there is nothing we have to do now and all we have to do is wait. He kept our passport. The next day our case was updates again but still in AP. What should I do. I am almost broken. I dont know what to do. We had plans and everything. Everything got shattered. Also I need to travel for work and they have our passports. Please help and let me know if there is someone with similar experience. Islamabad embassy F4 visa
  11. Hi everyone! Here's a new group for anyone who has just applied for AOS from K1 in July 2018! Fingers crossed for everyone!
  12. HelloAll, My NOA2 is dated 4/26/2019. I have been in AP since following our interview on September 8th. Issued a 221g and sent the documents and they received it on November 5, 2019. I'm getting nervous here as I know the Embassy can extend my NOA2 for up to 1 year. So lets say my AP extends beyond 4/26/2020, does that disqualify us and our petition gets sent back to USCIS? If THATS the case what happens? We start it all from scratch? Cc @Shrouq615
  13. My husband has been in AP in Islamabad since April 2019, 1 day after interview received dd5535 filed and returned, last update was 11/2019 after we sent inquiry, no updates since even after we’ve sent inquiry a couple times in December. So over Islamabad and their process 🥺

  16. Today at the airport, my EAD card was lost while checking into my flight to Paris. I have a flight in the morning from Paris to the US and no longer have my EAD card. After multiple attempts to find it and file a police report I haven't been able to locate it. I have photocopies of my ead card, my advance parole approval notice, pending AOS receipt notice, marriage license and original K-1 visa on me. What can I do? Can I still board my plane to the US and what are my options if not? My wife is in the US and can go to our local uscis office or anything that can help. Anyone have any ideas how to solve this??
  17. Hello, My husband and I had our EB2 visa interview mid July in Montreal. My husband is the main petitioner and his visa was approved right away and got the passport back, but my case was put on an administrative processing since then. It's been extremely frustrating to say the least since we just don't know what's happening and how much longer we need to wait. At the end of the interview, the interviewer said that my case may take 3 weeks instead of 2 weeks to check the record but we both got green slips, and they never asked for any additional documents either. We both got our master's degrees in US and worked and lived in US prior to the interview. I have not been able to return to work and my home for over 3 months now, and I also have a toddler son waiting back home too. I'm wondering if anyone has had similar experience at Montreal and have any advice for us. I'm also considering asking for my passport back to return to my home in US and wait there. Has anyone tried asking for their passports back in similar situations? What does the process look like? Do they continue the administrative processing even after they return the passport back to us? Also, can I cross the border with the current passport event if they do return it to me? I currently have a valid TN visa. Any advice or help would be much appreciated. Thank you!
  18. Hello All, i have applied for Cr1 visa and had my interview on 22nd Aug then received 221g for relationship evidence. i submitted everything on 06th Sep. Next below I have received call from embassy on 23rd Dec morning 9 AM,Before that there was a CEAC case update thrice on 19th,20th and 21st Dec. They called and told me that your medical is expiring on 28th Jan, If we approve the visa will you be able to travel before it expires," I Said YESS". thats it from that call. Since my interview day case status was showing READY. After that call in the evening it changed to Administrative processing and case update was 23rd Dec. Is it a good sign ? I'm nervous and excited too any suggestion would be help in this situation. TIA
  19. Local Office- Chicago, IL but case at NBC. Anyone with PD in beginning/middle of September 2019 got approved for their EAD/AP yet?
  20. Hi all, I've been a long term reader of this very helpful and supportive site! As I've been reading so long, I'd like to share and ask if anyone is going through a similar situation as my fiance and me. 1) My fiance had his interview in Guangzhou on 2019-01-24. The interview was ~10 min, and the CO did ask about his PhD in Materials Science & Eng and also kept the resume my fiance brought. None of the instructions asked to bring a resume, but we wanted to be very prepared as my fiance is in a TAL field. Atfer the interview, the CO gave my fiance the blue slip with only "Administrative Processing" marked and informed him there were no problems and the processing would take ~3 wks. 2) On 2019-01-28, we received a follow-up instructions email from the consulate with a Word doc attached named "SAO-M" (we presume SAO indicates Security Advisory Opinion-Mantis"??). When we opened the doc, the header was "Administrative Processing". The doc asked for my fiance's detailed resume in both English and Chinese (format resembled the DS-5535). And on 2019-01-29, we emailed the resume as instructed by the consulate, and we have been waiting every since.. 3) We have emailed the consulate multiple times. I have called and emailed both my senators and my congressman. My congressman has been very helpful in contacting the consulate and then the DOS (Bureau of Consular Affairs). But each time, we still receive the same AP comment. I did call NVC last Fri, and received conflicting responses: 1st response said a note had been placed into the system stating the case has been returned to the USCIS on 2019-05-31. When I called again to confirm, the 2nd response said there was no such note. One of my senator's office did say the consulate will often return cases for further background checks. Right now, we are just very confused and frustrated. Any tips would be much appreciated; thanks!
  21. Hi everyone, I need your help. Has anyone experienced this? What should I do next Thank you. PS my interview was at the US Embassy in Ghana

  24. Me and my husband filed for my AOS a little over two weeks ago. Yesterday we FINALLY received the text saying our case was received and that we will get I-797 in our mail soon. However, when I put our receipt number into myUSCIS it only shows that I’ve filed the I-765 (employment authorization). It doesn’t show the actual AOS not the AP. Has anyone had the same experience? I’ve checked back every couple of hours or so but it doesn’t change. I’ve also tried calling USCIS but it’s just an endless loop of recorded messages. I’ll submit a picture of what it looks like:
  25. Hi fellow members, My apologies if it has been answered before. I’m USC and I filled i130 for my wife and it was approved in Dec 2018. She went for an interview and got 221(g) white. We submitted the needed documents after 2 days and the case has been in Ap from Dec 2018. I’m from Nepal and we haven’t married religiously. Couple of months ago, the embassy called my parents as well as my in-laws to verify the marriage. Since, it is a bonafide marriage, they gave the same reply. Whenever I inquire the embassy, I always get the same generic reply but last one said, your case has been placed for “mandatory administrative processing”. What does this mean. The last update was made in June 5th. Does this have anything to do with her stay in Bangladesh for 5years? We did provide the police clearance certificate from Bangladesh. I heard when it is mandatory, they have something to do with FBI, is it true? All of your answers and feedback are welcome. Thank you!!
