Hi everyone! My husband is set to enter the US next week on his CR-1 visa. Will the government shut down affect him entering the US? I know CBP is essential and USCIS is funded by fees so they will still be working. But will they not properly process his visa entry at the airport due to the government shut down or deny him entry because of the shut down? Did anyone enter on a IR-1/CR-1 during the last shut down and can provide some insight? Thank you! -
Case is far outside normal processing times. MSC Processing Center. June 2020----- Filed I-751 May 2021-----BIOmetrics May 2021----- Ready to schedule interview Feb 2023---- Second I-551 Extension letter received. Expires September 2024. April 2023---- I spoke with a USCIS agent who acknowledged my case was outside processing times and instructed me to send an email to have the case reviewed. Sent email, was supposed to receive reply withing 30days, still no reply. May 2023--- After waiting for 30 days without reply, I contacted senators office to request help. sent them necessary info. They said uscis is working on it, nothing more they can do. ----Case Last updated 780 days ago What gives? USCIS won't communicate, I understand there are delays, but I'm seeing people who've filed in 2021 and 2022 that already have their approvals. -
Hi, My sister had her interview with her family in Oct 2019 and right after the interview they called my sister and told her that Embassy is ready to issue visas to my sister and kids but not her husband as it requires more time but sister declined and wanted her husband to be included in their visas and they put their case on administrative processing, we sent out many messages to Embassy but they gave us the same answer (administrative processing) and its been more than 3 years since interview and when we contacted the Senator, we got a message from Embassy to give them 30 days and then to follow up and after 30 days they gave another message of administrative processing, is this a good time to file Writ of Mandamus? Thank you. -
I had a CRBA interview one month ago for my two little daughter. The officier give a asked me to send my old US passport to check my entry/ exit history via DHL. I had already sent it one day after the interview. One month had passed and i didn't receive any notification about my status. Do you how long it takes to get any notification from them?.

Hi, I just submitted the application and the required documents to the nvc through the ceac online portal. I wanted to understand what is the processing time for this. Meaning how long will it take for the nvc get back with an approval, sending the docs to the embassy and providing the interview date. Also do we schedule the date ourselves or is it provided to us by the nvc? And what is the current schedule liken? I am from Pakistan and I am married to a US citizen. Would appreciate a detailed response since I am completely in the dark currently. -
Hello, I have applied for K1 visa for my fiancé in late 2019 and he finally had his interview on mid October, 2021 in Ankara & it seems like it went well. At the end of the interview they did not ask for any additional documents and just hand him 221 paper. Since then he has has put on administrative process. We tried to call the embassy several times but we can't get an idea how long it will take to complete the process and no solid reasonable answer given as what is holding up the case. At the interview they did not ask for any additional documents and they did not take his passport. He is from Iran so maybe that is holding us up. I am so tired and have exhausted all our options. I have called state department , I have requested from our congresswoman to follow up with USCIS and the Embassy , & I almost contact the embassy on weekly basis with no results. Don't know what else I can do. If you have any suggestion I would greatly appreciate your help. We have spend lots of money on lawyers and now he is staying on extended visa in Turkey which is becoming very expensive. I also don't want to piss off the embassy. If anyone have gone through similar situation, I would greatly appreciate the help. -
Hello everyone, I need some help with a query that I am sure has been posted before but one I cannot find an answer to. I completed my DS260 and uploaded all necessary documents for the second stage of my IR1 visa process in April. However, my husband (USC) has not yet completed his side of the application which is the I864 and the required tax returns. There are valid reasons for his delay in submitting it but I just wanted to know if our case will expire because he hasn't completed his part of it yet? and if it does not expire, will this be brought up in the interview and will I be questioned about why my husband took so long to submit his part of the application? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! -

My Sister husband (citizen) filed for her 2 children 5 and 7 last September and awaiting approval! My Sister children father went behind her back last week and filed his own application. What will happen to my sister pending application she filed last September? Will there father application interfere with the first application there mother sent? She's really confused and upset. My sister and her children father live in the US separately as permanent residents. The children live in another country while processing
