It is long but they are still processing cases from Sept. 2018.  Did you open USCIS online account and check status? Good luck.

    1. My wife was at her interview scheduled today at 8am at the Ghana Embassy.
    2. She was called to the first window for submission of documents.
    3. Only the medical records, passport, passport pictures, birth certificate, police clearance certificate were taken from her. They gave her back all other documents.
    After few minutes, she was then called to another window for her interview. She said the CO looked up something in the system and was smiling;
    a. What work does your husband do?
    b. When did you meet?
    c. Was he ever married?
    d. How many children do you have?
    e. Did you apply for a US visa recently?
After the above questions, she was given the approval slip and asked to register with DHL to track when her issued visa is ready for pick up.
*In all she spent 27minutes inside the embassy

    it was sent to NVC

you will wait for NVC welcome letter which will have instructions to proceed.

    Basically
NVC will give you a Case ID and INvoice ID Login to CEAC and pay the fees. While there make sure emails for contact are accurate After 3-4 days once the status changes to paid, you can start with the DS-260, I-864 and other forms Submit /fill those said forms Wait for them to be reviewed and wait for interview
For you it just means: now instead of an unknown on when your son can immigrate, it is now a known value based on your son's country.

For now start collecting all the required docs
Passport copy Police Clearance Certificate I864 Tax transcript or Tax returns W2 birth certificate etc

    So here is my update:
Sept 23rd 2019 I went to the US embassy in HCMC, Vietman and handed them a bunch of additional documents (fb chat logs from 2017-current, moneygram receipts, photobook, etc) and said they'll add to our files.
1 question was ask of me: Are you the petitioner?
I asked if there's anything else you need from us, and do you have any questions for me and he said No, so we left.

(Our case was never updated before I visited the embassy, since June 2019)

    A month later:
Sept. 23th 2019: Visited USEMVN (more evidence)

    Oct. 29th 2019:  Case updated
    Oct. 31st 2019: Case updated
    Nov. 4th 2019: Case Updated
    Nov. 8th 2019: Case Updated
    Nov. 12th 2019 Case Updated

Not sure if this is good or bad since we have not gotten a call/email or mail from them yet but at least they are looking at it.

INA 217 means your fiance was refused entry on the VWP.

You need to answer "yes" to the question if he has ever been refused entry into the US.

The refusal when properly disclosed will not affect the K-1.  Not disclosing it could create problems.

Vietnam is a high fraud country and people married their relatives to bring to America that's why they want a family tree info.
Did you just have to list names or addresses/phone numbers?   https://vn.usembassy.gov/family-tree/

I'm hearing a lot of people are getting blue slip on their first try so you guys just be prepared to gather all that info together just in case.  It was a pain in the ### gathering all that info.  i'll go grab the info from the blue slip and brb.
    They asked for info
    about an ex spouses
proof of purchase of airplane tickets
    more relationship evidence
list of beneficiary's relatives in the US
    full list of petitioner's relatives
    relationship timeline

USCIS doesn't care about the strength of your relationship or how many visits you had (as long as it was ONE within the previous two years), that determination as to bonafide is made by the consulate

GMvietnam reacted to KBCN in K1 RFE - Asking for Marriage Termination Evidence; never been previously married
    Hey everyone!

I know it has been a bit as it took us some time to get everything sent back over on the RFE and then waiting patiently on hearing anything back. JUST GOT THE APPROVAL IN THE MAIL TODAY!!!

Ended up sending a cover letter/longer narrative regarding the situation, a signed (and notarized) statement from my fiancé indicating he was never previously married, and the certificate we received from the National Registry of Persons (plus a translation since Argentina/Spanish and a short note (signed/notarized) from the person that translated).

I want to say thank you all again for your help and we are very excited to have our NOA2 in hand, ready for the next step in this process. Best wishes to everyone!

Something tipped the USCIS to believe a previous marriage had occurred,  either an erroneous indication in the evidence provided or just a plain error by the adjudicator

The next time your "wife's friend's neighbor-in-law friend" whatever (?) wants feedback from the VJ community, suggest that she join VJ and post her own question. This charade stuff grows old for other "sister's wife's friend neighbor-in-law"..... VJ members who have a tough time trying to figure out who we are talking to....

I'd send an email with the details of your case and that shortly your medical exam will expire, that you wish not to retake the medical and you hoping the visa would be finalized and issued.

    Good luck

Then I guess you could say that about joint leases/mortgages, or joint bank accounts.  We decided to do wills and living Wills at my wife’s ROC stage, they were simple, but it does show another form of marital commitment.  Heck, even single people should have Wills, but I suppose most do not.

GMvietnam got a reaction from Crazy Cat in Misrepresentation - ban for life?
You gotta R-E-L-A-X.  They'll laugh at you for providing a "WILL" as proof.  Your wife is entitled haft of your money/assets and if you died, she's entitled 100% UNLESS there's a prenup.  You can not have a will that would give all your money/assets to anyone while your wife is alive because it is NOT all yours to give away...Good luck.

GMvietnam reacted to Greenbaum in Case Status Site- Very Strange
Old site (also the data source for all 'USCIS case tracker' apps):

    https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/landing.do

    New : https://myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov/

(you have to create an account and add your case # to it)

Neither is more reliable (and it's very possible you won't see anything on either, and will have to just wait for the physical mail). For a while it looked like they were phasing out the "old" site, but that trend seems to have reversed itself and there are still lots of cases that show up on only one (or much earlier on one than the other).

We can't opine on which is more accurate. Your mileage may vary.

I always say.. "Just give them what they ask for". No point in trying to figure out why they need it.

If they want your grandmothers chocolate chip cookie recipe... just send it. It may be a little confusing or annoying that they asked, but at least you have complied and are one step closer to getting approved. Which is the main goal.

Sorry to hear.  Only positive I can get out of this is they denied right away instead of putting her in AP and denied after year.  You can marry her and file I-130.  There's very limited option after K1 visa denied.  Good luck.

I suggest going over the evidence presented with the I-129F and any interview questions.

Next steps are to spend more time together, eventually get married, then file an I-130 for a CR-1 visa.
