SJordanS reacted to jaysaldi in Oh boy. Social media questions.
Well, deleting them wouldn't solve the problem, because I think the question asks for usernames you have used, not just usernames you are currently using.

    I guess your options are:

    1. Change nothing, and list the usernames on the form (the honest approach)
    2. Change nothing, but omit the usernames on the form (lie without coverup)
    3. Delete the usernames and omit them on the form (lie with coverup)
    4. Delete the usernames but list them on the form (this doesn't make any sense)

I think the usernames create two questions: (a) are you already married? and (b) was she contemplating marrying you right after you started dating, which could call into question her sincerity and the genuineness of the relationship and whether it's being done for immigration benefits.

"I created these usernames using his last name to show affection" isn''t the most convincing answer. They might then ask has she used your last name in any other setting other than with these usernames?  Does she introduce herself to people using your last name, does she have business cards with your last name, does she get mail addressed to your last name, does she have monogrammed sweaters with your last name initial on them, etc. And they might ask you "When you aware of this and why didn't you tell her to knock if off?"

Is your last name really cool and better for selling things? Like if your name is "Bob Spectacular" she might say that it was a better for her to sell online calling herself "Betty Spectacular" rather than her using her real name, "Betty Diarrhea."

Or she could say "I called myself Betty Spectacular on Reddit because only a crazy person would use their real name on Reddit, it's full of creeps."

In short, she could argue that "I adopted his last name only for online purposes, where people customarily use pseudonyms, shortly after we started dating, NOT because I'm the second coming of Glenn Close's character in 'Fatal Attraction', but because a prudent woman preserves anonymity online and I used them as 'stage names,' if you will, and never used his name 'in real life' for any purpose."

Are there any other reasons they would have to conclude you're married, like was there a pagan engagement ceremony that resembled a wedding? Or any other reason they would question the genuineness of the relationship? The UK certainly isn't a high fraud country, so you've got that going for you.

SJordanS got a reaction from tench in Documents Arrangement for Embassy Drop-Off and K1 Interview Day
Unfortunately our Embassy, Amman Jordan,  is NOTORIOUS for not mailing/emailing packet 3. Its up to us to figure out instructions on our own. Some may get lucky and get someone from the Embassy on the phone to detail it but that hasnt happened for awhile. Very unfortunate. So Im depending on you guys to help some of us here. Perhaps Jordanian members here too?

My biggest concern is the required ORIGINAL documents we must provide. I did find an outdated list on the Embassy website. Let me know what I am missing here:

    - Original I-134 signed in black ink from petitioner plus a copy  and a signed I-134 copy from Co-Sponsor - with extra copy of each
    - Original Employment letter from both petitioner and co-sponsor
    - Original paystubs plus copies for petitioner and co-sponsor (co-sponsor will also include copy of business license since self employed)
    - Original certified signed 2018 tax returns or transcripts for petitioner and signed copy from co-sponsor
    - Original Certified Copy of Birth Certificates plus 1 copy of each for both Petitioner and Beneficiary
    - Original Certificate of Non-Conviction  plus 1 copy for Beneficiary
    - Original Civil Certificate Letter plus copy for Beneficiary
    - Original Divorce Decree plus 1 copy
    - Sealed Medical Examination Envelope
    -  2-4 passport photos

    Also
    - Valid passport and copy of Passport for Beneficiary
    - Copy of I-129F
    - Copy of NOA2 letter
    - DS-160 confirmation
    - Photos of us
    - Chat/Video/Call logs

Then...what from the above must be dropped off prior to our interview? Our Embassy indicates no less than 1 week, no more than 2 weeks prior to interview , documents must be dropped off at Embassy between hours of 11-12pm on working days. They do not indicate exactly where, what needs to be attached to it, NOTHING. If anyone knows, I would appreciate it.

Then last but not least, IN WHAT ORDER DO THESE DOCUMENTS HAVE TO BE IN on day of interview? Again, no one has received instructions or packet 3. Even those way ahead of me as far as I know.

    Thank you!

    1. I was also denied of a B2 visa, due to insufficient ties, shortly before filing for a k-1.
    2. I also submitted photos of our engagement party, with an engagement ring.

They kept my passport. I had to be patient throughout the AP. After 3 weeks I was issued.

Btw, my fiancée and I visited the embassy again after the interview, trying to see why the AP is taking so long. Maybe it helped.

I thought it was going to be a quiet weekend.   A marriage ceremony will be interpreted as being married.  Let's say you do the ceremony and later after citizenship it is found out that you had a marriage celebration.   Guess who gets stripped of the citizenship and is deportable?  Why risk it?

Ok I will add you. Since it was only 8 days it seems the information you submitted was for informational purposes for the Embassy. It does not look like it was for the department of state for security clearance as assumed. Otherwise it could not have been approved in 8 days because it would take about that long to be submitted to CEAC. Which in my opinion is even better. Again congrats to you and your fiance 😁  and Ill add you it may take 24 hours to be added in.

I was just about to message you and invite you to a K1 support group chat here for Jordan but its perhaps no longer necessary unless you would still like to join and give us all a head start on AOS experience once your fiance arrives? Im so so happy for you! When you are finished with your happy dance would you mind sharing how many total days in AP?  Thanks.

    Hello Everyone

Long time listener, first time caller. Thank you first of all for this group. Ive been lurking for so long and unsure if I wanted to create a profile but for the first time today read somewhere there were separate groups for middle east K1. I hope one day I can be of help but today I need help especially from those who are  going through the same. We are a bit devastated. My fiance had his interview on July 9th. I did not attend the interview with him but was in Jordan. I didnt go with him per the request of our Jordanian lawyer who we hired in Jordan. We are a red-flagged couple so he wanted us to avoid issues. I would have preferred to go but lawyer said they are really judgmental there but dont act like it and if we appear to be an unlikely couple in their eyes it triggers additional unnecessary questions to trip us up. My fiance was also glad I didnt attend because he felt a bit of pressure just being alone. We had a perfect package, tons of evidence, front loaded like crazy, and the new security questions were covered with extra information volunteered by us and ready on a separate piece of paper. Everything was reviewed by our lawyer but the interviewer still told us we needed additional security clearance. He was given a form and he told my fiance how to email the information which we have already submitted. Lawyer did tell us to prepare for AP and it was unlikely we get approved on the spot but if everything clears later, we certainly can get approved BUT Im worried since after asking him, he said 2 were denied this month after being put into AP like everyone and sent back to USA.

We took things farther and we included full print outs of our Face book profile pages, chats and online dating info, comments by friends and family members under our photos. We listed any changes of names on the facebook history so nothing was hidden per our lawyer (my name was changed 3 times in the last year and a half). Then we wanted his family history and whereabouts of beneficiaries family members their dates of birth and want their addresses etc. Done. BUT then they called his sister even though we never included her phone number.!

The interviewer asked questions about my fiances siblings which were on the DS 160 but still asked.
She asked about my divorce (red flag for jordan)
She asked what my religion was ( I was born catholic, he is muslim and we are both not religious but its still another red flag again)
She asked how we met, what platform it was and then asked when I went to jordan for first time.
She asked how old I was and how old he was (Im 33 and he is 28) another red flag!
She asked where I was right now, he said having lunch with my mom in downtown.
She asked him what my favorite color was and he said blue which is true and she smiled at him as most of our pics and my facebook posts im wearing blue.
She asked if we had wedding plans and he said yes

She gave him a sheet a paper and said to have a seat and wait to be called again. We submitted everthing they asked a week later and 2 days after that they called  his sister. Two updates on C.E.A.C web and nothing else. Lawyer said everyones getting a 221 g lately Im scared because he said 2 of his clients this month were denied after going into this AP review and eventually got sent back to USA.

Is there anyone else that experienced the same? Why so many 221g everywhere. Its all I am reading.

He gave me this list when I met him the first time and listed scenarios. Annul ,annul, annul!  Seek a divorce attorney next for a consult. You are smart to consider this. You will be financially responsible for him unless you withdraw your AOS. He may have other motives. My gut is he lied. Your gut tells you this too and since its only 3 months annul and withdraw ASAP. If it ends up he somehow stayed here even though you annulled, he wont get past the immigration interview I think.  Depending on your state laws it wont matter why you divorced he may still has rights.

After reviewing previous threads, I really think you need to seek some professional assistance. The circumstances & experiences are getting increasing complex and it may appear to them as having questionable intentions.
Here's the best I can come up with for a timeline based upon prior posts:
2011: Spousal visa application (K-3) or petition refused/denied. The marriage was deemed not legal due to prior marriage not being dissolved yet at the time of the new marriage. 2011: Possible divorce/annulment then K-1 visa application? Or new spousal visa application? 2012: Birth of SO's child in the US. 2011/2012: Relationship with US Citizen fell apart. Sometime 2011-2015? Applied for a tourist visa to visit child and/or DNA test for a court case. Not sure if this ever occurred as it was asked & brought up a few times but no clarity was ever provided. 2017: Entered DV lottery. 2018: I-129F filed for a K-1. May 2019: Visa refused under 221(g). Interview appeared to be very probing and with multiple individuals. July 2019: K-1 visa refused and I-129F being sent back to USCIS.

The only reason they are required to provide is the section of the INA. In this case, the reason for refusal is INA 221(g). That said, 221(g) is very broad - it means the application does not confirm to the requirements to complete processing.

In this particular case, it appears that they believe the petition is invalid. The most common reasons for this are 1) not a bona fide relationship , 2) "too married" for a K-1 (inability to establish that one is free to marry), or 3) IMBRA requirements not met (e.g. undisclosed criminal activity by the petitioner).
Upon return to USCIS, they will let the I-129F sit to expire. They do not review returned I-129Fs anymore, despite the FAM (that the embassies use) define a process to return it to USCIS for review. It's long, complicated reason for this, but the long & short of it is that it avoids a permanent bar for misrepresentation that could occur otherwise, so it's really not that bad of a thing.

The visa would only be refused after the interview. Unless there is a major, glaring unwaivable inadmissibility, they interview every applicant (and even then the exception is just possible, not expected).

    Next steps are:
    1) Figure out why they believe the petition is invalid. How often did you spend in person? What evidence was provided? Any red flags? Any information about a potential wedding ceremony provided with the petition or in the interview?
    2) Get married and start over with an I-130 for your spouse. Technically you can do another K-1 (if eligible), but it is highly suggested to go the spousal route in this case. If that is refused again, USCIS will actually review and potentially reaffirm the petition.

1b - List the amount provided and attach supporting documentation.
1c - I just left these fields blank while preparing my form. You can do that or write "None", as the question applies.
2 - She just needs the I-134 and supporting documentation.
3a - Quoting from USCIS: "Your household size includes you, your dependents, any relatives living with you, and the immigrants you are sponsoring."
3b - Depends on her household size. Check form I-864P.
3c - No, the cosponsor has to qualify by him/herself and his/her household size plus the immigrant.
4 - You need a wet signature, yes. Just place it behind your own form, don't need to overthink it
5 - That site is referring to the I-864 Affidavit of Support, but you need to send the I-134 for the visa process at the embassy. Poverty guidelines are the same for both forms.
No problem, everyone here in VJ understands how you feel. Good luck and a smooth journey!
