Documents Arrangement for Embassy Drop-Off and K1 Interview Day

Unfortunately our Embassy, Amman Jordan,  is NOTORIOUS for not mailing/emailing packet 3. Its up to us to figure out instructions on our own. Some may get lucky and get someone from the Embassy on the phone to detail it but that hasnt happened for awhile. Very unfortunate. So Im depending on you guys to help some of us here. Perhaps Jordanian members here too?

My biggest concern is the required ORIGINAL documents we must provide. I did find an outdated list on the Embassy website. Let me know what I am missing here:

- Original I-134 signed in black ink from petitioner plus a copy  and a signed I-134 copy from Co-Sponsor - with extra copy of each

- Original Employment letter from both petitioner and co-sponsor

- Original paystubs plus copies for petitioner and co-sponsor (co-sponsor will also include copy of business license since self employed)

- Original certified signed 2018 tax returns or transcripts for petitioner and signed copy from co-sponsor

- Original Certified Copy of Birth Certificates plus 1 copy of each for both Petitioner and Beneficiary

- Original Certificate of Non-Conviction  plus 1 copy for Beneficiary

- Original Civil Certificate Letter plus copy for Beneficiary

- Original Divorce Decree plus 1 copy

- Sealed Medical Examination Envelope

-  2-4 passport photos

Also

- Valid passport and copy of Passport for Beneficiary

- Copy of I-129F

- Copy of NOA2 letter

- DS-160 confirmation

- Photos of us

- Chat/Video/Call logs

Then...what from the above must be dropped off prior to our interview? Our Embassy indicates no less than 1 week, no more than 2 weeks prior to interview , documents must be dropped off at Embassy between hours of 11-12pm on working days. They do not indicate exactly where, what needs to be attached to it, NOTHING. If anyone knows, I would appreciate it.

Then last but not least, IN WHAT ORDER DO THESE DOCUMENTS HAVE TO BE IN on day of interview? Again, no one has received instructions or packet 3. Even those way ahead of me as far as I know.

Thank you!

I guess we also need an updated and signed original letter of intent to get married from both beneficiary and petitioner, this is from what i have read on this website.

but i'm not exactly sure about the order, but I know that we should drop off  all the original documents 1-2 weeks before interview and bring all the copies with us to the interview . there will be a person who would have a checklist at the embassy and take the documents that they need.

Thank you for posting this. There is another poster here who is having the same problem she’s been trying for almost 3 weeks and I like your idea about all of us emailing to Embassy to have them open up my days. I’m going to tag the other girl here who is having the same problem as you @leng22 has been trying for awhile now.

How long did it take from the time the embassy received the packet from NVC ans showed READY until the time you receive the email from Embassy?

I’m still waiting for NOA2 so I can’t help here :(

My Fiancé has called down there several times. They want to book an appointment and then they will charge just for the consult. They are unreal. They charge you just to breathe down there. Nesrene used to be more willing to help with these things but Abo Samir needs to fulfil his jolly rancher candy stash so he has her charge for everything.

  • 2 months later...

Hello and thank you for all the valuable advise and information that I have found here. I was hoping someone who has been through the interview process might be able to help me. I am preparing to drop off all documents at the U.S. Embassy in Amman this week (1 week prior to the interview). It is quite confusing...

What is the best way to deliver the documents?

I am preparing a binder with all the documents, is that ok?

Should it be sealed somehow or labeled in any specific way?

Does it have to be in any particular order?

Is it best to make an exact duplicate of the binder (minus the actual passport and sealed medical exam results) and bring the duplicate with me on interview day? When we say "original plus photocopy, does this mean both are in the drop off package or original in drop off and copy for us to bring?

I have included everything they listed on the website but there are some discrepancies when compared to the list that @SJordanS originally outlined. I will list what I have and where I am confused with questions. Please point out anywhere you think there is an error or issue!

  1. Two (not 4) recent passport style photographs (matching the U.S. immigration specifications) (will bring 2 additional with me on interview day)
  2. Valid passport (I literally submit my actual passport with the package I drop off, not a photocopy right? I make a photo copy and bring that with me to the interview?)
  3. Visa fee receipt from the Cairo-Amman (do I also attach the CGI barcode page or is that not necessary?)
  4. Proof of relationship (signed statements of intent to marry from both, photos of us, plane/train/bus tickets proving we traveled together, emails, cards we wrote to each other)
  5. DS-160 Confirmation Page (printed from website)
  6. Medical examination (sealed from designated doctor)
  7. Civil status certificate from the Civil Registry Office (original and one extra photocopy)
  8. Birth Certificate (original and one extra photocopy - is this for both Petitioner and Beneficiary or just beneficiary?)
  9. Civil marriage certificate (not included because does not apply as neither of us have ever been married)
  10. Previous marriage and/or divorce certificates (not included because does not apply as neither of us have ever been married)
  11. Evidence of support:
    1. completed and signed affidavit of support Form I-134 from the petitioner (does this need an additional copy in the dropped off packet?)
    2. copy of petitioners complete federal income tax returns for 2018 and 2017
    3. W-2 form from 2018
    4. a letter from their employer
    5. letter from petitioners bank stating when account was opened and balance as of print date
    6. bank statements for the past year
    7. (are paystubs really necessary?)
  12. Certificate of Non-Conviction (only from Jordan since never lived anywhere else - does this need a copy as well?)
  13. Complete copy of the previously submitted I-129F Petition (Do I bring this with me or do I include it in the drop off package or both?)
  14. NOA2 letter (Do I bring this with me or do I include it in the drop off package or both?)

I know this is a lot of questions but I wanted to be as detailed as possible both for my own clarifcation and to hopefully help anyone else who is experiencing these difficulties with very limited and almost absent instructions for our embassy. Please help me as I am very nervous... @A.Na. @leng22 @nkayx @C&M.2018 @Shrouq615

Thank you in advance and best of luck to all in their visa journey!
